Can't open some .tif files

Post by okrim »

Hello everybody,

I'm have a strange issue.

Every time I try to open a .tif file i get this error message:

Format of the file <FILE NAME.tif> could not be determined

This are renderings created by Maxwell 4.
Mask renderings .tif are opened normally.
Also renders created by Keyshot.

I can't change file associations in options, even if opening as Admin.. but they are set to all types of files.
.tif are set to be opened in XnView in Windows settings.

Thumnails are visible in Browser.
I use Win 10 64 bit.

What can I do?
I already uninstalled and reinstalled (with CCleaner & Register cleaning in between).

opening this file in Photshop and resaving with or without compression creates a readable file for XnView.

difference between this two files are 96 dpi and no sRGB color scheme..
can that be the cause?

in the past I had no such problems!
