Unwanted file types shown in Viewer
Hi *.*,
For some reason it seems (after updating to 2.40 perhaps?) that in Viewer XnView is showing me file types I don't want it to show, like PDF's or icons in EXE files while browsing through a dir using Page Up / Down. Any ideas, please?
TIA
Roman

XnTriq,
It is set to Custom. The files are not shown in the Browser, only in the Viewer / Fullscreen.

I can only reproduce if you have not Custom in browser. If i use Filter>Custom, PDF is not shown in viewer.

Pierre,
I can reproduce it with PDF or EXE when Filter set to Custom. Is there any way I can help reproduce?

Re: Unwanted file types shown in Viewer
- Create a new folder (e.g. Test).
- Copy the following files into the newly-created folder:
- XnViewMediaDetector.exe
- logo.png
- A PDF file
- Start XnView v2.40.
- Deactivate Show item in view 'Thumbnails' for AI, PS, PDF files and All other files in Tools → Options... → File List → File List.
- Deactivate Recognize only by extension in Tools → Options... → File List → Misc.
- Set View → View As to Thumbnails.
- Set View → Filter By to Custom.
- Point XnView's browser to X:\Test\.
- Open X:\Test\logo.png in XnView's non-fullscreen editor.
- Move through the folder by using the buttons for Previous file and Next file on the main toolbar.
XnView opens the PNG and PDF file as well as the icon of the EXE.

Sorry, Pierre, you're right. Of course it's the other way around:xnview wrote:if 'Recognize only by extension' is activated, i can't reproduce
- The bug can only be reproduced if Recognize only by extension is deactived.
