GUI bug in XnView 1.80.1

Post by lopoz »

Fresh install of Windows & XnView (using XP style menu's)

This is what the problem is:
Image

Using:
-Windows XP SP2
-ATi Radeon Mobility 9700
-Omega Radeon Drivers (Catalyst 5.7)

I'm only experiencing this on this notebook. I've installed it on a different notebook and it looks fine (with integrated Intel graphics)

Any ideas?

Strange, you have a display problem only with check box?

yes, only the checkboxes are weird like this..

Also, if I pass over them they change to formes similar to the ones in the screenshot.

I'll see if I can make some more screens, so you can see what I mean

[edit]
To make matters even stranger:
When I open a next 'level' in the menu, the checkboxes in the previous level seem to correct themselves..

So if I open the 'edit' menu, the checkboxes are weird. If I then open the 'View As' menu, the checkboxes in the 'Edit' level are corrected, but the ones in the 'View As' menu are weird..

If you would have been using windows 98 my quess would been resource memory overflow, but Windows XP haves virtually unlimited resource memory. It sure looks like it though.
XnView Tweak UI - Tool to customize your XnView beyond the regular XnView options.
UI-less Settings - Documentation of all the hidden settings in XnView.
XFAM - Tool to create and customize XnView file associations.

I don't know..

These are my specs:

Sony Vaio VGN-A117S
Intel Pentium Centrino 1.7 GHz (Dothan Core)
Intel 855PM board
ATi Mobility Radeon 9700
1 Gig RAM
80 Gig HD

Anything important missing?
Any settings you want to know or that I can change to see if it makes a difference?

I've found out what the problem is!

When I disable the Transition effect for menus and tooltips, the problem occurs!

Also, setting it to 'Fade effect' instead of 'Scroll effect' also introduces the weird checkboxes

Do you think it could be a driver problem, seen as the Windows Display Settings are causing the problem?
