Bug> No Audio When Playing MP3\MPEG-4 Quicktime Videos

Post by ckit »

There are no steps for this since it does not effect all MOV's, I can only list the filenames....

Audio won't work (speaker icon in the player is dark grey and no slider)
Killer Bean 2.1 Remastered_640x480.mov (MPEG-4 Audio)
Sentinel UK_480x360_q_squeezed.mov (MP3 Audio)
WhatIfMordor_Shigh_400x300.mov (MPEG-4 Audio)
WhatifRohanGondor_Shigh_400x300.mov (MPEG-4 Audio)

Audio works
StarWars EP2 Clone War_640x480.mov (QDesign 2 Stereo)
StarWars EP2 Forbidden Love_640x480.mov (QDesign 2 Stereo)
StarWars Menace_640x480_qt4.mov: (QDesign 2 Stereo)
VampirePowers_320x240.mov (Stereo)
VampLocations_320x240.mov (Stereo)

QuickTime Std 6.5.2 installed.
Now what scares me is that the "Killer Bean MOV" used to work.
The videos that have problems with audio work fine in Media Player Classic.
AMD Ryzen 3 3300X 3.8Ghz, 16Gb DDR4, RX6600XT with Dell U2520D at 2560x1440@60Hz scaling 125%

Just found another one (MOV Integer (big endian) 96Mb)

Star Wars: Republic Commando Trandoshan Weapons Trailer:
http://www.gamearena.com.au/files/details/html/15192

Both Quicktime 6.5.2 and Media Player Classic 6.4.8.3 can play it fine.
XnView can only play the sound and no video.

Ok, I tested for this bug with XnView Deluxe 2 and everything works fine with All MOV's.
After that I retested with XnView and everything works fine.

Now I blame Apple for crappy Quicktime codecs :)
