Hello, I've tried looking this up but just cannot seem to figure out how to do something very basic with XnView:
In Windows explorer I'd like to just double click a file, see it open with XnView (works great), then use the next/prev file function (which I assigned to the middle mouse wheel) to continue to view images in the same directory, similar to how acdsee functions.
The problem is that when I start viewing prev/next files it then brings up images from users\my name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\IE\randomletters, which are usually small graphics but not the ones from the directory I'm currently viewing or opened the image in... very frustrating.
Can anyone help?
Thanks very much,
Tyson

Re: How do I view all images in same directory using prev/next
Hi there.
I have the same problem with my smartphone in connection with Windows 10 (previously there were no problems with Windows 7):
I connect the smartphone to my computer and use Windows Explorer to go to the directory with the pictures.
After double-clicking on the first picture, this is shown to me normally, but I cannot continue browsing because the directory has changed.
XnView moves in the directory "C:\Users\"my name"\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\IE\xxx\"
instead of in the image directory of the smartphone ("xxx" can change).
There you can only see the picture that I clicked on in the picture directory of the smartphone.
I'm afraid it's a problem with Windows 10, but only found this post on the Internet about the problem.
Hope someone can help ...
Regards, Mike

Re: How do I view all images in same directory using prev/next
Hi! I have been having the same problem for some years now - I remember it last worked in the last decade or so.
If I try to open my phone's internal directories and open the view image by hitting enter key and it opens the viewer, the viewer does not "move" to that directory, instead uses C:\Users\MyUsername\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\IE\randomcharacters.
This makes viewing pictures practically impossible without copying them from the external directory to the Windows' drive
Edit: I have been searching for some setting in Options that could have an effect the directories, but have not found such.
BR, Matti
