Viewing pdf files in XnView

Post by gilliano56 »

Hi, this is my first posting here. I have been using XnView for many years and I have a feeling that once upon a time you could click on a pdf file in the programme and it would open up. Am I correct or am I dreaming!? Anyway, with version 2.13 and having downloaded Ghostscript and gsview, I just get the message "Format of the file ... could not be determined..." or something about downloading "Ghostscript". I'm using Windows 7 home premium. Would appreciate some clearance on this subject. Thank you.

AllFormats=1 ?

(I don't view PDF's in XN myself, I use MUPDF ...)

Low verbosity about plugin trouble in both XN and NC is a known problem having been there for centuries :-\

Install Ghostscript x32 -- the 32-bit version is required for x32 software like XnView 2.13 even on a Windows x64 computer.

To obtain a good quality image you may need to increase the Ghostscript DPI from the default value of 72 :

Tools > Options...
XnView_PDF_DPI.png
>Please post XnView support questions in the XnView Classic Support section...

Thank you so much cday, installing Ghostscript 32 fixed my problem. Do I need gsview which I have already installed?
