Re: Converting JPEG to .JEF
At least for now, XnView doesn't support reading/writing of the Janome Embroidery File format.
digimad (Janome Forums » saving to a jef file) wrote:Gemma, word docs cant be turned into embroidery files, niether can image files, the only thing that will do that is an embroidery digitising program.
If you Google embroidery software you will find various programs, some very bacic some much more sophisticated.
link to economy priced auto digitiser
completely free program
another free program
I'm not going to pretend these are the best programs out there, they aren't but if you try them you might see digitising images or lettering isnt just a case of converting a jpg for a machine.

Re: Converting JPEG to .JEF
As far as i know: The JEF file format is primarily used for embroidery designs, compatible with Janome embroidery machines. This format contains detailed information about stitching, including the color, stitch density, and stitch order, allowing for precise and intricate embroidery work. Jef file conversion is also possible by manual embroidery digitizers like Image2emb. Key characteristics of JEF files include their ability to support multiple thread colors, intricate stitch patterns, and large design sizes, making them ideal for creating high-quality, professional embroidery projects.
