[I am currently running XnView v.2.0 I would like to update to the latest version, 2.04. Every time I attempt to download the file, I get the following error message:
attachment=0]Capture.JPG[/attachment]
I want to make sure I don't lose any of the files that I currently have in the library. If I hit Ignore, I remain with version 2.0. Do I need to delete the old version, to re-install the newer version? Will all the data stay intact?
Thanks
Dave

That error means "Access denied". Are you running the installer as Admin?

possible reasons:
1. XNVIEW is running
2. file has the "R" attribute set
3. old or new file is blocked by some stupid process (so-called antii-virii ... )
BTW, you can download the ZIP and manually replace just this ONE file

There is indeed no WinZIP under my rock.

Thanks DOS386DOS386 wrote:>

When I opened the XnView webpage from the browser, I forgot to close down XnView window before I continued. As soon as I did that, it all went smoothly.
Thanks
