Scanning multiple pages into a single .pdf

Post by argyle »

I am switching to XnView from the imaging software that was built into older versions of Windows. I need to be able to scan multiple pages into one .pdf, but it is creating separate files every time. I've looked through all the settings and can't find anything that relates to this - is it not possible w/ XnView, or am I overlooking something?

You must enable 'Save as multipage'
Pierre.

I read your reply, but I still fail to find the right command.
Could you please refer me to the exact command that will allow me to enable the Multipage feature?
In which menu can I find it? (I am using 1.91.6).

I don't get it, i am using 1.91.5 version of XnView, in the french version.

I do exactely :
1/ Fichier > séléctionner la source TWAIN
which means :
File > select TWAIN source
then i select the right source of scanner

2/ Fichier > sélectionner dans ...
which means :
File > Acquire into...

I specify the directory (desktop), I put a word "temp" for the file name, the index is 0 with 1 digit large, all the pages (odd and even) and chose the PDF format which options are "compression with ZIP" and a quality of "80".
The "multiple pages TIFF" checkbox is checked.

I click on "scanner".

Then the "Color network ScanGear" window open, and if I click on the "scan" button, I can see the progression of acquiring.

But the files generated are named "tmp_xnview-0.png" to "tmp_xnview-8.png", nothing in common with the word i put by the way...

Could anyone help me understanding this issue ?

The mistake is maybe you are using PNG which does not support this,
multipage is only supported by TIFF or PDF.

You have to change the format and it will work.
