In Batch Rename, the user can sort the images using the drop down list box. When sorting images by name, the images "abc1", "abc2", ..., "abc20" will be sorted "abc1", "abc10", "abc2", abc20", which is not as desired.
What is really missing is the sort "Name (Numeric)".
"Name (Numeric)" in Batch Rename

Windows---
Hello !
- This is the basic Windows sorting feature.
This could be improved, since in Total Commander, in example, we can set the "natural" sorting like : file1.* file2.* …file9.* file10.* and so on.
This works with all 32-bit Wins. However, the umlauts and other accented characters are set at the end of the list.
- When IE 6.0 (and newer) is installed, it's possible to get the accented characters sorted alright too, like : a….* à….* c….* etc.
It's the same with numbers, and / or combinations of both.
———————
- I guess that Pierre might create an option to set these sorting-modes, it's quite possible…
Kind regards,
Claude

Pierre should have it in the todo list already.helmut wrote:This "wrong sorting" is due to the alphabetical sorting. Numeric sorting would be really helpful in Batch Rename.
@Claude:
Numeric sorting is definitely possible in Batch Rename, we have it in the browser, already.

• Hi !

- Hence, the full natural sorting should be better, of course, but needs absolutely that IE 6.0 be installed (to get the appropriate DLL), like I said above.

• Hi !
- This sorting is lame when we have both numbers and accented characters in the file-names, like you can see below :Numeric sorting is definitely possible in Batch Rename, we have it in the browser, already.
