sorry for that, but i need to try it again ...
is it possible that with "fit image to height of window"
not only the image is streched in heigth
but - additionally (and probably by an option) -
now the width of the window is recalculated
so that the enlarged image may fit herein without horz scrollbars
resp. without beeing truncated?
many thanks again!

yes - horizontal scrollbars
1) user sets height of the window, as he likes to have it
2) image, if small, streches to the windows height
the window's width keeps unchanged
now, current behaviour, 2 cases:
a) the enlarged (or shrinked) images width is smaller than the windows width -> gray border
b) the enlarged image width increases the windows with -> horizontal scrollbar
optionally desired behaviour:
* window's width adapts to the new images width *
So, the window fits best to the images size; the only fix parameter
is the user defined window height

- the height of the window is fix (choosen by the user)
- now the height of the image is increased/streched (or shrinked) to fit the height of the window
- now the enlarged image, proportionally, probably has a new width ..
... and now finally the window's width should be calculated so that the image may fit herein
(max width is the desktop's width, of course ..)
(only as option, because not anybody may like this behaviour,
but for me it is very intuitive and some other viewers allow such a setting, as far as i remember. I would appreciate it very much).

additional remark:
the desired way concerning the "dynamical width of the the window" is basically exactly the way how "fit image to desktop, all" works ...
the difference is, that with "fit image to desktop, all" small images are not really strechted to the window size; instead you see here a gray background area; like that:

In your screenshot, you have "fit image to desktop, all"????guest wrote:additional remark:

Hello Pierre,
yes.
I mentioned "fit image to desktop, all" in this context because
a) i wanted to say that "fit image to desktop, all" _has_ this feature of dynamic resize of _windows width_ which would be nice to have as an option for "fit image to heigth" too
but
b) i don't use "fit image to desktop, all" itself because it does not really stretch small images (the screenshot shows that it stretches
the window ... but not the image ...)
Request for "fit image to height" in summary: please allow an option to autosize the _window width_ if the image's width requires that.
Best Regards and many thanks for your attention!

Hello Pierre,
thank you again!
I know that there are a lot of suggestions here in the forum, but it is possible to say that, now back about the issue on "fit image to height", an option covering an "auto-width" of the the window would be ok for you in general?
(i think it is a more user-friendly presentation of an image)
Kind regards,

Retest with 1.80.3 ..
Retest with 1.80.3 ..
"Fit image to desktop, all" now works as expected - bug is fixed
Many thanks to the programmers
My last issue/question is: is it planned for some future to provide an option described above for "fit image to height"
(autosize of the window width, so that it, concerning the window width, may behave like 'fit to deskop') ?
kind regards,
