Do you agree? If not, let me know..
Two documents is not good because content of gif/icon is frames/pages, not files. So I think no reason for dog-eared document in this icon. So I will make movie clipper at top and two rectngles with number 2, 3 below. But not sure.
Ok you are right. But could you maintain that same saturated green color on the two rectangles of 2,3?

budz45 wrote:I still support the "C" metaphor for 'add watermark' but here's another concept....3D-ish stamp
XnView toolbar icons should harmonize together as much as possible in their perspective.
Suggested 3D-ish stamp does not much perspective.
Regarding stamp - I like this metaphor, but agree with John - stamp usually means "clone" or "image brush". I think semi-transparent character like © on picture is good solution.
yes you are right, again, about all icon designs having to match + harmonize each other. I was not a proponent of 3D stamp, just posted it as another idea.

Ok let's go for the copyirght " © " metaphor. Perhaps instead of semi-transparent " © " you could consider just a plain one with outline just like your original 'add text' logo. you see not all watermarks added to images are transparent  here I did this, what do you think:

or is it a bad idea? Just testing ideas

Also what is your feedback on my 'Add Text' proposal? http://www.awicons.com/stock-icons/xp-a ... t-text.png

Why green?

I'm not sure that solid color for © is good.

'pencil' or 'pen' - edit
'ABC' - spellcheck or guide
'typing cursor' - rename

'Text' over image - clear for me.

Oh wee again they're all so beautiful. Yes I vote with you on that last one, not because it's the best but because it's most suitable for Paint plugin at this point in time. Well done on beautiful designs :D

I like this new update to the 'First/Last' :P ..more distinguishable

Ah yeah your right, green or any colour is not necessary, was just playing with ideas again. Ok let's go fot this one for the 'Multipage'. This is gonna be great.

I'm not sure that solid color for © is good.

I voted for that white one (far top-right) after testing it on some screenshots.

It appears the nicest on the toolbar if used on a custom XnView 'viewer mode' toolbar

What do you think? We go for this one then?

Awesome, really beautiful :D - I don't even know which one to go for... So we could let Pierre decide on that.... This would make 'Create strip of images' undoubtedly communicate to users :P . Much thanks for your work.
For the 'create strip of images' icon you could consider also consider two document pages with a 'zipper' going between them although I still applaud this 'glue' metaphor concept being cool enough to use.
Image
'zipper' not good enough....ok....Or could try Clo's feedback:
Clo wrote::arrow: budz 45

:) Hello !

• For “Strip of images”, I used pages sewed together plus a coil of wire and a needle …

 KR
Claude
Clo

Or if not 'sewing needle', then something as simple as two documents with non-joining opposite facing arrows, inspired by an old Xnview 1.xx toolbar icon

'Text' over image - clear for me.
Hmm - ok the 'Text' might just ok then. I can't think of anything else, so I think it's ok.

So for the latest summary:
multipage - done
paint plugin logo - done
add text - done

add watermark - unsure on final as yet
create strip of images - unsure/could look at another final design ideas
copy path - no design submitted yet - agreed earlier on black dos 'C:\' on paper  http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.p ... 105#p90205

btw, all of these after finals done would need to be in both 24x24 and 16x16 sizes I'm sure

Ok more feedback is neccesaary, pitty there hasn't been any feedback activity from others on this topic recently, designs are great. Wonder if Pierre would approve.

Sorry to add another request,

I believe a 'Reset' icon is needed (too easy). Please read this topic for why and where it would go in XnView MP; http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=21819

You meant 'restore old value'?
Will make it by Pierre request.

Thank you for 'scotch tape 5' for the possible 'create strip of images' icon. Yes designs 3 or 5 (3 is stronger especially if resized to 16x16) would be just fine if Pierre and others agreed.

Thank you also for 'copy path' - it looks perfect just like this. :D

Will message Pierre's attention to the latest updates on this topic....

I'm not sure because in MP no supports multi size icons. In mose cases, 24x24 scaled down to 16x16 :(

Oh yes I see now 24x sizes are resized down automatically by MP to 16x.. Ok that's fine. less work for you anyways :)

Here's my mock-up of how new-Tab,multiPage and Paint-plugin icons would go (lookin nice)

Yes 'scotch tap3 6' does look really good, I think that is the new winner over 'scotch tape 5' for the 'create strip of images' icon. I hope Pierre agrees.

But it has already been established that "Create strip of images" feature is NOT traditional 'Panorama' creation.

mezich,

You are right! On reconsideration you should stick with the original 'add watermark' icon you made (the one on your demopage) :)

It's minimal and more to the point. The '©' metaphor is more specific to copyright adding which might be confusing to a user's eye at first glance. Furthermore I originally stressed that to see more/bigger of that 'stamp' on the 'add watermark' - but I don't know if you are for or against this. But it's ok.
