Re: Hotkeys / Shortcuts Requests
I saw Shift+N for Batch Rename on the request list. How about Shift+F2 as an alternative? (F2 = Normal Rename, so Shift+F2 = Batch Rename, easier to remember, I guess)

Re: Hotkeys / Shortcuts Requests
Ctrl+M is a duplicate shortcut for "Generate file listing" (main shortcut is Shift+L) and Ctrl+M is also used for Multi rename in FreeCommander, so I suggest Ctrl+M for Batch/Multi Rename, but Shift+F2 is not bad too...

Re: Rating of images
Now in v1.96.5 full screen, rating is not any more possible at all?!? In menu-view-rating the hotkey "CTRL+Numbpad 1" etc are still displayed, in http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=5069 also, in F1-help "Adjust Brightness / Contrast / Gamma" which also is the real behavior => how can I rate the image I'm seeing in full screen? Context menu has still no entry for that.GeorgD wrote:In order to rate images, I've to use hotkeys in full screen (popup menu does not contain rating). Great feature, works, efficient

Re: Rating of images
There are two fullscreen modes (search for more info). To rate in fullscreen, go to browser, press F11 and rate your pictures.GeorgD wrote:how can I rate the image I'm seeing in full screen? Context menu has still no entry for that.
Edit: context menu item is missing, but you can use shortcuts from the browser menu (Ctrl+Numpad 0 - 5).

Re: Rating of images
I never went directly from browseer into fullscreen mode, because my switching mode setting is browser->viewer->fullscreen, so I never experienced that there are two types of fullscreen mode...Dreamer wrote:There are two fullscreen modes (search for more info). @two types of fullscreen mode
1) Where in f1 help and here in the forum can I find more information on that? I searched a while but obviously used ineffective search strategies...found zero helpful info
2) I assume that browser->F11 keeps all hotkeys, functions etc from browse mode and viewer->F11 keeps those from viewer. Is that correct?
3) In F1 help in appendicies->Shortcuts and in http://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=5069 no full screen shortcuts are listed. I suggest (and if accepted by you others I'm willing to create the page) a shortcut help page for fullscreen, having one list for each of the two fullscreen modes, so it gets really obvious there are two of them
4) keyboard.txt is out of date and not at all complete. I suggest to remove it from package (info is contained in help file and here in the forum, so very redundant) and also from F1help-appendicies-files.
What do you think? /Georg

Re: Hotkeys / Shortcuts Requests
1) Help is a bit outdated. I didn't find anything either, Mr. librarian help please.
2) Not really, most hotkeys should be the same, but some features are available only in one fullscreen mode (e.g. cropping, rating...).
3) That list is outdated either.

Re: Hotkeys / Shortcuts Requests
In "Tools> Options ... > Keyboard / Mouse> Left & Right Button"
Add "Windows Drag and Drop".
To move the image from Xnview as if it were drag and drop from a classic folder.
Please, I know so many users waiting for this function
Best Regards,
L2on

Wow! Thank you, XnTriq! I tried "two fullscreen modes" too, but I didn't find anything.

Re: Hotkeys / Shortcuts Requests
I ran mad in full screen because key "Page Down/Up" did not show next image like always, but jumped by around 10 images at once. Then I realized I was in "the other full screen mode". Does anyone see a good reason why Page Down/up shall behave differently in the two full screen modes? This jumping behaviour is especially confusing because the key is labled "image down/up" in several languages, e.g. German.Dreamer wrote:2) Not really, most hotkeys should be the same, but some features are available only in one fullscreen mode (e.g. cropping, rating...)

Re: Hotkeys / Shortcuts Requests
"Page Down/Up" keys are working good in both fullscreen modes here (next/previous file), it must be some strange bug/issue... Try to backup and rename xnview.ini.

Re: Hotkeys / Shortcuts Requests
Summary: Working fine now.Dreamer wrote:"Page Down/Up" keys are working good in both fullscreen modes here (next/previous file), it must be some strange bug/issue... Try to backup and rename xnview.ini.
Details: Well, because of the known Win7 64bit file association bug I just reinstalled XnView and lost my current config due to missing access rights & lacking attention by me. With the resulting default ini the keys work like at your machine. After copying my backed-up ini to XnView folder and 3min fiddling until XnView really used that ini ("use ini in XnView folder" was defined in the options but in reality some other ini was used, known bug in Win7) I observed that PgDown/Up also works as desired with the backed up ini. Seems my old installation was really messed up...

Re: Hotkeys / Shortcuts Requests
I'm having heaps of trouble trying to rate images in fullscreen mode.
I use a laptop with no number-pad and the usual key combination to get round this does not work with cntrl.
This severely limits the usefulness of this otherwise great program.
Can you please move to customisable keyboard shortcuts.
I doubt that any users remotely concerned with security would be willing to introduce a keystroke interceptor/monitor (ie HotkeyP) as a 'workaround'.

Re: Hotkeys / Shortcuts Requests
Ctrl+T - could open a new empty tab (XnView MP)
Ctrl+W - could close a tab (XnView MP)
.. Just an idea
