"use embedded thumbnails" does not work in Linux X

I am using xnview in various versions of Puppy and grafpup linux.
I find that the option to use embedded thumbnails doesn't work.
When I turn this setting on, it still reads the file and creates new thumbnails as usual. I tested by using a file with an incorrect thumbnail.

Does Xnview on Linux use embedded thumbnails for anyone else?
Does anybody know if there is something I can do to make it work?

Thanks.

Yes it's what why I did not have this kind of problem with this un*x version - see here:

(I think, you have to wait for the XnViewMP version or use XnView Win version under wine).
