Anyone know the cure for this?
I am running Solaris 8 with CDE on Sun Blade 2000
I played around for a while with the application defaults (had to create the directory the installation tries to put them in and create the env var) but nothing seems to change it.
Text and background black on Solaris - menus thus unreadable

I sent you a private message because I don't have time to properly secure my website!
The workaround I mentioned (for the benefit of others) is to specify a visual when launching xnview (with the disadvantage that everything becomes dithered to a 256 colour palette):
% xnview -visualid 0x20
So it is preferable to run xnview as it is - when you mouse over the menu the drop down menu selections appear and they are readable - so it isn't a terminal problem.
