Metadata is not saved in single-image mode

Post by SergSA »

If you save metadata in the single image view mode, they are not actually saved.
If you go to the browser mode, you can see that the metadata is not preserved thereafter.

Thank.
So in this mode, it is better not for me to make an IPTc, since then the modification date of the file will change.

you need to save image to save metadata
you can change the settings
Settings : General, File operations, ...
Pierre, is there a quality loss when saving image this way ?
so, it would be better to avoid using this method ..

A good question. I have edited this reply, since my original comment was wrong.
"Apply" saved your changes in the program's internal copy of the image metadata. You can even view one image next or previous and the changes are still there, but not yet saved to disc until you select "save". There is no warning if you do not save.

I think it should be changed to either
  • remove the "apply" button, or
  • set the "edited" state so the user can be warned
I thought it might apply changes on the options tab, but these seem to be applied immediately, even if you press "cancel"
