Color management problem
Problem with jpg file with AdobeRGB color profile:
When I change the size via the "batch convert" function, everything works fine - as long as the checkbox "preserve color profile" is checked.
However, when I open this file in XNviewMP by double klicking, then choose "image/resize" and save it afterwards, the colors are different after re-opening the resized file.

Re: Color management problem
Meanwhile, I found another thread dealing with this problem which is still unsolved:

For me as a photographer who ofter uses batch convert as well as single file size reduction in order to reduce file sizes for E-Mails or WhatsApp (sending previews), this is a killer argument against XNView.

Re: Color management problem
I already tried all settings in ICC, no luck.
Here one examples (re-sized with IrfanView and XnView).

Re: Color management problem
Well, I leave it up to you which one looks good.
The problem is that XnView CHANGES the original color after resizing. Only with batch resizing the color stays the same.

Re: Color management problem
after resizing?? when you load a picture with color profile (and setting is on), the image is converted. In batch convert, image in not converted, the original profile is kept.
Pierre.
Re: Color management problem
Ok, not "after" resizing. The resizing process (open file, change size, safe file) changes the color of jpg files with the color profile "AdobeRGB".
Batch resize works correctly.
Do you mean that this is rather a feature than a bug?

Re: Color management problem
Currently when you load a picture file in edit mode, it always change it following the embedded profile
If you don't want that, disable the 'use icc' setting
Pierre.
Re: Color management problem
I think you still did not get what I meant. Lets start from scratch.
1) Open a tif file which has the "AdobeRGB 1998" color profile in XNViewMP (double klick on the file within the program). (ICC is enabled in the general settings.)
2) Rezize it to whatever size you want and safe it, use another name than original file (dont overwright).
3) Compare the original file with the resized one. The colors are WRONG.
When the resizing is done by batch convert, the colors are fine. By the way: Irfan view does the resizing correctly without changing the colors. Therefore, it is definitely a bug, not a feature
It doesnt make sens to deactivate ICC in the settings, since then the colors from the "AdobeRGB 1998" file are shown completely wrong already in the original file.
