CTRL + S to save
Is broken on the most recent update.
Re: CTRL + S to save
Specifically saving screen grabs, option is greyed out.
Re: CTRL + S to save
a screenshot can't be saved, the original file doesn't exist, you need to use 'save as'
Pierre.
Re: CTRL + S to save
The file does indeed exist in xnview & I HAVE saved via CTRL + S prior to the last update.
If you attempt to close out of the grab in xnview you get prompted to save as default not save as.

Re: CTRL + S to save
The version I have on my notebook than I didn't allow to update & works is .98.4 64 bit.
Re: CTRL + S to save
As I said CTRL + S to save does not work only with the extra shift key, CTRL + S does nothing.
Re: CTRL + S to save
Are you able to you provide steps to reproduce?
And could the issue you are experiencing possibly be related to the fact that when the Print screen key is pressed, the screen image is placed on the clipboard, which then needs to be loaded in some way into XnView MP, and is an unsaved image until it is saved by a user action?
Re: CTRL + S to save
No, the copy to clipboard box is not ticked & the image is loaded in Xnview.
Re: CTRL + S to save
This seems to be the problem.
Ctrl + s doesn't work because,
the File > Save menu option is grayed out (disabled) when:
- Creating a new image: File > New image...
- Capturing a screenshot in XnView MP: Tools > Capture...
- Or when pressing the keyboard key: PrintScreen
and in choosing: Edit > Import Clipboard
There is however a Save button that works.
When the image tab is closed, then a popup appears:
Save changed file
Do you want to save changes to "Clipboard 1"?
The popup has four buttons:
Save as..., Save, No, Cancel
The Save button is selected by default.
Pressing Enter or mouse clicking on the Save button.
Opens the Save As window.
Expected
The menu choice: File > Save shouldn't be disabled.
Choosing it or pressing Ctrl + s
Should open the Save As window,
just like it does when the Save button is pressed,
in the (close tab) Save changed file popup.

Re: CTRL + S to save
This is the crux of the problem, it does not, I don't use screen print key at all in favor of the capture key on the task bar, here are the options I have to capture, as stated Ctrl + s does nothing only attempting to close out of the grab displays the save/save as options.
