Re: Batch Despeckle?

here's my latest configuration version for XnConvert when "cleaning" scans. the greatest differences i did find in the past was moving the reduce noice below normalize EX or adjust brightness. But even then in general i did find little difference. I don't know the algorithm for "reduce noise" but se...

Re: Batch Despeckle?

First of all thanks for going so indept. The scanner is set to do basic grayscale by itself and then save as a tif to my NAS which i... well... straight connected to it and then to the repeater. This is because the previous printer had me set the page, then go back two rooms where i have the pc, sca...

Re: Batch Despeckle?

First: this is the forum for XnConvert. I already knew about those softwares, i was asking specifically of this. Also what i ask is not "making coffee" or other things unrelated to the scope of the original software. So it might already be there as it happened with several requests i asked in the pa...

Re: Batch Despeckle?

it appears to work only on very low resolution scans/pictures, and the appearance chance is not very noticeable. I don't know f this is intentional to avoid unditting "i"s :D

Re: Copy/Move to

Meh, either way is rather consistent.

Usually "file" has "Save" and "Save as..."

"Edit" seems the better place for a "copy"/"move" option

But as XnTriq said, this is not a random program, the whole purpose of this specific program is to do this kind of stuff, so "file" is also reasonable.

On Spam

I've got several emails in the past from this forum with spammers trying to sell stuff by putting a message with a "nice" url for subject. That's normal. What is not normal is that the email warning about a new topic takes the subject of the new message (which is, as i said, an url) and transforms i...

Re: Image Upscaling And Downscaling Algorithms

And also: if the image is going to be upscaled by a lot, would you allow to be able to choose along the usuals (like lanczos) something drastic like: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pixel_art_scaling_algorithms or even https://johanneskopf.de/publications/pixelart/paper/pixel.pdf Yes, i know: these a...

Re: Windows XP - Entry Point not found

I understand people still cling on XP for very good and undertandable reasons (like having to redesign industrial robot software or because you live in a country where the only windows version sold is crippled or because you live in a country where getting the latest windows version costs as much as...

Re: Microsoft updates *facepalm*

Well it did not install as i said, as it got flagged before installing and it was prevented from installing. It did download. But it seems that just downloading is not enough as 3 different scanners found nothing malicious. I used Comodo, Spybot and Malwarebytes, usually only comodo is on active sca...

Re: Microsoft updates *facepalm*

I don't see an official microsoft reply on that post. Does anybody else in this forum have that update in their hard drives? I'm counting on the fact that since the developer is french and i'm italian, it might be an update pushed to the central or western europe and thus a few more people in here m...
