Re: Whats the best way to shrink files size

.. Is this the right way to reduce files sizes or is there a better way - I'm posting these files to a facebook sports group in a photo album. One way to reduce files size is reducing JPEG quality and thus loosing image information and details. A second way is to reduce size of the image. I'm not f...

Re: Export for NConvert ...

... It would seem logical for the exported code to include the code for the output terms, which will be constant, and not the code for the input files, which if the exported code is to be useful will vary. Anyone requiring a filelist for a particular run of NConvert is able to do that using the exi...

Right, file upload of this forum has it's limitations. You could upload to a file hoster or alternatively send it via e-mail. I've just sent you a PM with mail addresses.

Re: contact sheet from videos

I need the possibility to create a contact sheet with thumbnails of a video. This is currently possible for images, but not for videos. I see. XnView Classic can extract frames from a video and you could then resize video frames and then combine these to a contact sheet. Unfortunately, in XnView MP...

Re: Export for NConvert ...

XnView MP 1.2 exports the script with files included. From my perspective including files into the batch script clutters the batch script. And does this inclusion work for 1000 files, too? I think that export is supposed to generate two files: One script file with nconvert and actions and options an...

Thank you for your suggestion, corr. If you want to see thumbnails of videos, you can activate this in Tools > Settings | Browser | File list. There, check "Show as thumbnails" for Videos.

Re: Auto-crop Borders facility

Thank you for your suggestion, Darzzr. Auto crop is available in XnView Classic but not in XnView MP, see Missing features (compared to XnView Classic). I much hope that Pierre closes this feature gap, soon.

Re: Error when zooming into a photo in Preview Area

Thank you for your posting screenshots, Ludger. This looks really strange and like a bug. ... @Pierre: Instead of posting some screenshots, wouldn't it be easier for you if I upload a orf file??? I've tried myself to reproduce the problem but didn't succeed. I think it would be good and helpful if y...

Re: File size smaller after lossless rotation - normal?

Thanks helmut - but JPEG isn't a lossless compression. It would be great to get a confirmation of what is going on. JPEG lossless transformations rearrange the compressed data (DCT coefficients) without (re)compressing image data. Unlike saving a file in JPEG format these transformations are lossle...

Re: Error when zooming into a photo in Preview Area

Re: Batch combine pairs of images

+1 Thank you for your good suggesion which I support, Scargoth. It would be really cool if batch conversion would have functions that can handle multiple images. This could be for joining images, or overlay several images, or... Base could be parameters (nconvert) or a list of file. And combination ...

Re: Canvas Resize: Automatic background colour

+1 A good suggestion.

"Colour of Pixel at position" is a good start - later on there could be additional methods to determine the background, e.g. colour that is most often used for example.

Right, there's room for interpretation which is no good. Correct is 1.2.0.
