Our beloved Pierre got heavy bashing already because he seems to be the only one that finds this feature is both understandable and working. I am not aware that the situation has changed. Do a forum search (also on my name) and you will find several threads about the problems with it.

While there is room to argue that DSCF99.jpg comes before DSCF100.jpg in natural counting, when you're looking something up in a listing, you look at 1 digit at a time, not the number as a whole. That's what I mean: I and many others do not do it like that. That's why we have the option Name Numeri...

I figured out what the name(numeric) does, it arranges images by the length of the word or number first, then by alpha. With this sorting methed, xxx.jpg would come before aaaa.jpg, 987.jpg would come before 1234.jpg, etc. Rather strange method of sorting imo. I fail to see what is strange with put...

+1 ...but I'd like to have more options, also as customized mouse shortcut, for example right+left button, or - another idea: Make a standard function when using left button + move a cursor (make selection, move picture), but "quick zoom" (feature requested in the first post) after a second. I don'...

As far as I know - yes, all information lost. One of the reasons that I never started to use this part of XnView. IMHO the whole cat-handling is not up to par with the rest of the program.

Re: Unclear, serious attempt at clarification

Thanks for trying to clarify the issue, but I don't think that this is what the others are talking about. I mean even you write that when the arrow keys are too slow then one just grabs the scrollbar itself and moves to wherever you want it. That would be no real problem if it's so easy to fix by th...

Re: Strange 'effect' in fullscreen

Same here. I tracked this down (maybe) to a problem with the Viewer window size. If it is like maximized but is not (means manually changd to nearly full screen size, with the window's statusbar hiding behind the taskbar). It vanished after I resized the window so it is no longer behind the taskbar....

The Enter key: I can not reproduce this behaviour. Very weired. I would recommend to install XnView on a different computer to verify for yourself. IMHO you have some background program running influencing this. The redraw glitches with continued double-clicks (3): I CAN reproduce that, so it should...

(I.E. the highlighted folder) itself moves instantly when there's a keypress and moves rapidly as expected if the key is held. No, it does not move rapidly when the key is held down. It stumbles slowly through the tree. Most probably because it waits on some reaction in the thumbnail window. It wil...

That doesn't change the (elsewhere already noted) very slow folder tree performance of XnView. The cursor on the folder should move with the standard Windows keyboard repeat rate. It should not wait for the loading of the thumbnails at all.

Back to the ini: I was just chasing down a strange problem when I put beta 1 back and forgot about the ini. So I immediately closed the program again, deleted the ini in the program dir and voilà: everything back to normal. It seems the real ini (in Documents and Settings/User/Application Data/XnVie...

OK, I have the mp3s with some wrong characters. But as you said, it's because of missing unicode support. It's a known issue, so I think this topic should be closed. Full unicode support will be / is in MP version only. And I doubt that MP will ever catch up with XnView. But that would be a differe...

You have zero points. First what most people do is just copy the archive content completely over the existing one. Second I do so for don't know how long and never had a problem. This means to me adding the ini is something new. Of course, a superior solution would be that XnView does not need to ha...

Fixed in beta 2! Thanks, Pierre. It looks xnview can read even v2 unicode(?) tags now!? Closed. Not really. What Pierre means is this: - XnView can read ID3v1, ID3v2, ID3v2.3 ISO, ID3v2.3 UTF-16 and ID3v2.4. The last two have support for foreign symbols, usually referred to as 'Unicode'. But XnView...

IMHO it makes no sense to put the beta in a different folder and thus start with everything from scratch. How can I see if bugs get fixed when my working environment is completely changed? I can not. And I do daily backups (as everyone should do ;-) ) so had no problem to restore my inis (or the who...
