Re: 'Auto image size' should be 'Auto image zoom'
I continue to have a problem with Auto zoom... when Zoom... would surely mean the same, the zoom values being preset values and the inclusion of 'auto' only potentially adding confusion. So the following might actually be a better option: View > Zoom... > Fit image to window When considering menu te...

Re: 'Auto image size' should be 'Auto image zoom'
Display settings / options It sounds too general for only auto zooming items and if go this path, it feels like some other options shall be incorporated inside. Somewhat agree, especially for settings... I think 'Auto' shall stay. But what is 'auto' about a user selecting an option?? 'image' - is r...

Re: 'Auto image size' should be 'Auto image zoom'
I agree that 'auto image size' is not good... 'Display settings'? Or maybe 'Display options...' as they are really options rather than settings, if you don't like the previous suggestions? There are multiple options, but only one parameter that is 'set', the selected option, so actually 'Display se...

Re: 'Auto image size' should be 'Auto image zoom'
So 'Auto Zoom'? For me, View > Auto Zoom... is not sufficiently clear, neither Auto nor to a lesser extent Zoom are really clear enough. I prefer View > Image size... so: View > Image size... > Fit image to window View > Image size... > Fit image to window, large only View > Image size... > Fit ima...

Re: 'Auto image size' should be 'Auto image zoom'
We probably agree that View > Auto image size... is not ideal, not immediately clear? It does not (re)size image, it zooms image automatically to the window size. Sizing only happens with 'Fit window to image' option and it affects window size. Is there really a meaningful difference, Image size... ...

Re: 'Auto image size' should be 'Auto image zoom'
View > Image size... might possibly be clearer, I think?
Looking at the available options, that would cover all but the last Fit window to image, wouldn't it?

Re: Keeping original file when editing
Maybe a workaround, if it would be useful, could be to: 1. Copy the source files to another folder; 2. Use a batch renaming software to rename those files with the 'original' suffix; 3. Process the original files as you wish; 4. Then, if appropriate, combine the folders. Edit: The XnView MP browser ...

Re: Fullscreen mode: Sometimes photo size isn't adapted to screen size
In some photo albums I have cropped some photos to a smaller size. Some of these aren't enlarged in fullscreen mode to fill the screen, although I had specified in the fulllscreen settings that this should happen. Are you able to post test images, some that open full screen and some that don't, for...

Re: App freezes when converting to JPG Guetzli
Processing time for output to JPEG Guetzli format increases very quickly as image dimensions increase, the format was only ever intended for reducing the size of webpage images... I believe that WebP is now the recommended format for reducing the size of images? I have previously suggested that a wa...

Re: File order is not correct when change mouse wheel to previous/next file
Default mouse wheel is zoom in/out. I change mouse wheel to previous/next file. When I double click a image file, it was opened by Xnview. Then I scroll up/down mouse wheel but found the file order is not correctly. I think the root cause is chinese file name. XnView Classic only has limited suppor...

Re: XnView MP 1.6.4
Any news here? Still 1.6.2 on Flathub ... :( Pierre doesn't produce Flathub versions himself, so any questions should really be directed to them! Given the rate at which minor point releases are currently issued, it is perhaps understandable that Flathub versions sometimes lag behind, there have so...
