Re: Non translatable strings

Hello Pierre, as Helmut stated, "Attach preview panel" and "Detach preview panel" cannot be translated into foreign languages. For me, another possibility would be to remove these context menu entries completely, because menu "View" -> "Info Pane" -> "Preview as tab" also does the "Attach"/"Detach" ...

More detailed textstrings/captions for rotate commands

Hello, With this thread I ask for 3 new textstrings in browser mode, in order to really identify which rotate command is represented by a toolbar icon. No change of functionality is required. Details: During the past days I did many tests with "rotate an image". Here I have learned that XnViewMP (I ...

EXIF:orientation is always top-left(1)

Hello Pierre, In case of the file-creation-date of an image in filesystem and its "exif:date/time original" is different, XnViewMP always displays exif:orientation always with value: 1=top-left while Exiftool displays the correct value. In order to reproduce, - take a *.jpg image with creation date ...

Re: Problem with exif:orientation

Hello Pierre, thanks for your investigations. It is really strange. But may be we use different settings. I repeated the test and the error still occurs: - working in browser mode - using command cmd_rotate180 (without an l in commandname) - tools -> settings->browser -> Misc.: "change exiforientati...

Re: Loss of EXIF data

Hello XnTriq, I did NOT "save" the file nor did I an "export". As said, I was in Browser-Mode, had selected one thumbnail and performed a cmd_rotate270 (without l) by clicking the toolbar icon. My settings Tools -> Settings -> Browser -> Misc are both unchecked: - "Change EXIF orientation ONLY" is u...

Loss of EXIF data

Hello, I work with XnViewXP 0.80 and have a *.jpg image (out of camera) with many EXIF metadata. Please see attached screenshots 1 and 2. My settings Tools -> Settings -> Browser -> Misc are all unchecked: - "Change EXIF orientation ONLY" is unchecked and - "Use lossless roation (if possible)" is al...

Re: Question to various rotate

Hello XnTriq, thanks for quick reply. My interpretation of "lossless rotation" is as follows: - pixels of the *.jpg file are rearranged - exif tag orientation remains unchanged - tags image-width and image-height are exchanged ( in case of rotate +90/-90) Taking this as the criteria I do not agree t...

Question to various rotate

Hello, I work with XnViewMP 0.80. Customizing my toolbars I have seen that for rotate90/180/270 XnViewMP has the possibility to select 2 (different) commands: - cmd_rotate90/180/270 and - cmd_lrotate90/180/270 (with a "l" before rotate) Can someone explain to me what is the difference between the 2 ...

Problem with exif:orientation

Hello, working with XnViewMP 0.80 I have a problem with rotating an image by 180 degrees. I open XnViewMP in browser mode and see all thumbnails of images in the selected directory. Pressing e.g.: "rotate left" the exif tag exif:orientation will change properly. Working only with "rotate left" or "r...

Re: Question to "Edit IPTC-IIM/XMP" window

Hello Pierre,

thanks for the explanation.
But I have another question: Can someone upload such a file in order to come to know its syntax/content?

Thanks in advance
Best regards
