XnView and DOS 8.3 names
I know XnView classic does not support Unicode in filenames (or at least doesn't support characters from foreign locales) and I'm not going to demand it. I know as well XnViewMP can do that, but my need for viewing such files is very rare and often they just can be renamed for doing this in classic ...

I think xfif.dll plug-in is meant solely for XnView. I have googled that name of browser plug-in for FIF used in times of Netscape was NPFIF.dll. I assume this thread from 2008 which mentions user with the same name as yours here and the same problem was a solution given to you back then. Modern bro...

a) .jpeg is present in XnView's list of supported extensions. Switch to "View as Extension" mode in your file association options window to find it easier way. b) in Windows 8 it may be more complicated. This can't be main way of opening files, only if additional. Because it only works if you have NetBIOS and the RPC Locator running, so this won’t work if you have hardened Windows. If right-click menu in Viewer has Fullscreen option, why in fullscreen mode option "Exit fullscreen" is absent from said menu?
