With all the competition going on nowadays — even among freeware viewers — the first impression is crucial, and usually the potential new user gets that first impression from a screenshot or the icon. If the goal is...

I removed the archive attribute from the info.txt file in the "test_1" folder, and I made sure that the info.txt file in the "test_2" folder had the archive attribute set. When I started XnView, only the default and the "Test 2" skin appeared in the list. So it appears to me as if XnView "sees" onl...

Unshrinking 5-legged cowgirl's dirty rectangles

 Dr. XnTriq examined our 5-legged cowgirl using Gamani's GIF Movie Gear which has a feature called “Shrink frames to smallest needed rectangle” or “ Optimisation par réduction au plus petit rectangle désiré ”. Usually you can undo this: Finally notice that you can remove any inter-frame tra...

As a matter of fact, the reason why I posted this info here was to prompt someone who's AUTHORIZED and familiar with submitting to take care of this, because I didn't think it's appropriate f...

Bingo: “You cannot view Web content files in Thumbnails view after you install Windows XP Service Pack 1 or Windows XP Service Pack 2” ( MSKB Article #327833 ). As I was poking...

Okay, that explains why I don't get previews of .htm/.html/.url files. What about the fact that XnView displays thu...
