@Bassmus: give us an exactly step-by-step description what you did&clicked&have checked.
maybe we go other ways to reach the same goal :-)

req: propper keyboard behaviour (if used under m$ windows)

hi, as a keyboardjunkie, i'd recognized the lack of xnviews compability to m$-windows keys/shortcuts. just two single simple examples: a) -go to browser-mode -press ALT-ENTER on a thumb. (file properties window will open) -try to move through the tabs (file/image/exif...) with pressing STRG+TAB it d...

It works on my win2k. Maybe XP is different though...
yes. on my XPsp2 no tooltips are captured with a hotkey-capturing, too.
ckits workaround does it.

It's faster the way it is but you could make an option for it to be used as a submenu instead. i'm sure, i'll never use this, but i'm supporting the "you could make an option for it"-idea. besides, it is easier to recognize (for me) by which program some "right-click-features" are added, if it is s...

moving quickly through folders is not possible anymore?

hi all, i'm not quite sure about this, did anybody recognize the loss of this wonderful m$-explorer-feature to walk through the files in a folder with simply typing the starting letters of the filenames, in xnview? -go to browsermode (in my case: a folder with 50 directories, all starting with "A", ...

deselection of files if changing thumbnailsize

hiho,

anybody can reproduce this?

-select some pictures/thumbs in browsermode.
-now, changing the thumbnailsize via menu->view->thumbnail size will deselect the pictures.

if bug, please fix xnview to remember the selection
if feature, give user an option to change that behaviour ;-)

cheers

Yes, that can occur if you use thumbails and label: "filename (without extension)". This option effects folders also. thanks! this is my setting. i've got a fol...

bug with generating thumbs in bg. and viewing images

this, maybe, might be a solution/workaround for a bug already listed here, but by now, i didnt find it through the search, sorry folks. -focus on a folder with a lot of pictures. (be sure, no thumbs (for the images inside the folder, not for the folder itself) have been generated before.) -now, move...

It's better to use F5
hmm...
then it would be better to document that in the menu.
instead, or additional to
CRTL+R = Refresh
F5 isnt documented as a shortcut, (in the menu, imho)

anyway, is there a difference between these two keys? beside the buggy behaviour of CRTL+R

Re: Yes, but minor…

• Confirmed here with 1.82.3 under XP-Pro. - The same behaviour existed already in 1.80.3 - I don't know if XnView can remember where the focus was before a "Refresh"… - So, impossible to say if it's a :bug: or a non-fixable lacuna… :-) so should be move it to the requested features? because i need...

ctrl+r to refresh a folder is unfocusing the current thumb i

hi all,

maybe it's not a bug, but i see it as one :)

ctrl+r to refresh a folder is unfocusing the current focused thumb in browsermode.

reproduce:

browser mode
select a thumb
press crtl+r

the picture isnt selected anymore.

even, if no new picture came to the folder.

Re: change on focus in treeview

But if you close the folder, the focus must change...
in my opinion: no.
please explain, why do you think it must be that way.

what do other users think?

change on focus in treeview

hi, it might be a feature for some people, but i think its a bug :-) in browser-mode: set focus to C:\pictures\some artist\some subdir\ an view some thumbs... the treeview of this path is expanded and looks like this -hard disk (c:) -pictures -some artist some subdir now, click on the "-" on "hard d...
