Set selection size means print size using dpi. I would have expected pixel measurement when first seeing it.

To reset warning dialogs: close program, remove line named "ShowAgain" in xnview.ini (settings file); underneath [Start] section. The 'about' dialog will show its location.

In older Windows times, there where buttons "More >>" which allowed for displaying additional settings/functionality/.... gdebi appears not to be installed in your OS by default. The "universe" section may need to be enabled in your /etc/apt/sources.list for it to become available in software listing (this wasn't necessary on live-cd).
