If no editor is associated for this type of file, focus is not lost and xnview is crashing.

Could you try to disable option/View/Misc>Read ahead/Cache behind? The is not in that. But seems to me I have found what leads to crash of xnview. I have been working simultaneously with xnview and 3dsmax and often switch between them. Sometimes confusing windows I press F4 several times in xnview....

I can't answer this question exactly. But I have suspicion these crashes are connected with last nvidia drivers and active nview desktop. Crashes happen in different situations. For example, it crashes when I switch from view image mode to browsing mode, when I switch form another program window to ...

I've been using xnview over last several years and I'm very pleased with it. But for now it has a lot of crashes. Hm. I install older 1.91 full, it shows (rebuild) thumbnails .max. 1.93.4 not shows.
I don't remember for sure what kind of version xnview stoped to show .max thumbnails.

I have the thumbnails for these files, do you have the last version of xnview and xcompound? I'm using 1.93.4 - full I reseted xnview.ini for sure, nothing happened. Instead of thumbnails form .max files I see white thumbnails. I'm not sure that it can prevent to show thumbnail: Windows Registry Ed...

3dsmax thumbnails

:bug: .max (any version of 3dsmax) 3dsmax's thumbnails doesn't preview and doesn't show, since ~1.91 (if I remember correctly)
Can it be fixed?
