Re: opening files with spaces in names

1. I get an error when attempting to open a file with a space in the name (1 a.jpg) by double-clicking on the file. The same file can be opened when I first open XnView and then the image. (...) The reason for your problem 1.) is a file association which was set using Windows. When using the Window...

Re: insert date in pictures - batchconverting

Inserting fields like "image name", "image size", or other image information during batch conversion would be a very nice feature, but currently XnView does not support this. Perhaps Pierre can add this...

Re: foldername is empty

Having a default entry in the field "output directory" makes sense, though one has to be careful: If the user just applies modifications and does not change the format, the original files might be overwritten (there is still a message box, before overwriting). Perhaps setting the name of the current...

Greg, with the image supplied via your link the problem can be reproduced easily. I have used a Windows 98 First Edition box to reproduce, so this is not just a problem of Windows XP. :bugconfirmed:

Re: resize in main window

...But if i use that i fear jpg picture goes bad if packing it many time. That's true. Applying JPG compression (when saving) over and over again will result in bad picture quality. Perhaps you can save the interim results as lossless JPGs or as one of the many other lossless formats (TIFF, ...). I...

Re: Minimal installation

Note: The following information is a little bit technical and not intended for novice Windows users. XnView does not need any installation since all the settings are stored in the xnview.ini and bookmark.ini, located in the program directory of XnView. Mainly, the installation (setup) is for conveni...

Re: Feature request - Create Contact sheet

I strongly agree: Currently, the user interface is not consistent in this area: When using Slide show, and Multi-convert, one can select files in the browser which then will be displayed in the file list, already. For "Create Contact sheet this does not work....

Re: XnView viewer properties - MDI?!

I think that what you are experiencing is the MDI behaviour of XnView. MDI stands for Multi Document Interface, which basically means that you can have multiple child documents in one (parent) window. Normally, the user does not "see" the MDI behaviour of XnView, since the child windows are all maxi...
