Re: Problem opening JPEGs

The reason for your problem is really not the spaces in the path, but the fact that your stat program does not pass the path of the image file to the program that is called (here XnView). This can be clearly seen in the error message that XnView displays: "Error opening file 'graph.jpg'". Not quite ...

Re: Problem opening JPEGs

... However, when the stats program tries to open the jpeg, XnView opens and then gives an error "error opening file graph.jpg". ... I think the reason for the problem opening files are spaces in the filenames and/or file path. Please have a look at the post Opening files with spaces in names , you...

I've tried to reproduce the problem with XnView 1.65 on Windows 98 FE, but did not succeed. Which XnView version do you use? Which OS?

Perhaps a special option in XnView is set which influences and causes this problem. Could you please send your .ini file to Pierre and/or me?

Re: Preview window

XnView allows setting the layout of the three panes/areas (folder tree, preview, and thumbnails) in the browser the way you want, already. Try "View->Layout->Third_menu_item_from_top.

Re: Keyboard selection of files in browser [Bug]

Could reproduce your problem. In the XnView Browser, you move from one thumbnail to the next, using the arrow keys. In the status bar, file name and file information is updated, but on the right side, the size and number of all the selected files , e.g. 1 file(s) selected [7.93 KBytes]is not updated...

Could not reproduce your problem, think the reason is that I do not quite understand your description. The most unclear part is

Could you please try to explain, again?

Re: Prevent XnView from checking some file extensions...

I have created 200 text files, each 36KBytes in size and renamed them to .icn. Then I have displayed them (no image!) in the XnView browser. It took half a second. How large are your icn files? How long needs XnView on your computer to display the icn files? Are there icn files only in that director...

Ok i try that next time, but please i use before acdsee and there is that (can resize in thumbnail's) and that's easy. When resizing the images, naturally there will be a loss of data: First the resizing, second the JPG compression (unless using 100% JPG quality). But I cannot see the difference be...

Re: Tile

You could use the MDI feature of XnView to see as many windows/images at a time as you want. But I recommend something different:

You can set the size of the thumbnails using the menu "View->Thumbnail size". Choose a large format, e.g. 384x288.

Re: Keys in Slideshow?

I have just tried the keys PG-UP and PG-DOWN in slide show, and found that these do work in XnView 1.66. Though if you have "Use Timer" activated, the timer will "disturb" your manual navigation: If you navigate one image back, the timer might elapse and navigate to the next image. Please double-che...

Another solution for problem 2.) (inspired by CrazyTerabyte): In the browser, you select the three images. Then create a panorama image. In the panorama image you select all the content of the panorma image (Ctrl+A) and then cut it (Ctrl+X). Note: Make sure to write one problem/question per post, ne...

Re: Bug with import from clipboard (Encarta)

I have cut & pasted contents from various applications to XnView without any problems. I do not have Encarta, so I could not try your case. This seems to be an Encarta <-> XnView specific problem. Have you tried pasting into other applications? As a (temporary) workaround, you might try to paste the...
