Support for emf and gzip compressed images

Can you please support EMF images? The only program on my OS (Ubuntu) which can handle it at the moment is LibreOffice. Can you make XnViewMP read gzip and bzip2 compressed images? Gimp for example can do this and for some formats like xcf or svg saving and reading them gzip compressed isn't that un...

Re: XnRetro don't start on Ubuntu 14.04 x64 (libstdc++.so.6)

It's not working because it's a 32 bit program (why is there no 64 bit version?), which needs 32 bit libraries. If you want to install all runtime dependencies on your system, run this in a console: sudo apt-get install lib32gcc1 lib32stdc++6 libc6-i386 libfontconfig1:i386 libfreetype6:i386 libglib2...

Support for BPG image format

BPG (Better Portable Graphics) is a new image format, "based on a subset of the HEVC open video compression standard". The source code for the decoding library is available at http://bellard.org/bpg/ . You can compile a static library (or with some modification a shared library) from it which would ...

Re: Ubuntu packages

Video doen't work if libQtOpenGL is not here?? It does, but that wasn't my point. If I add libQtOpenGL it doesn't depend on any more system Qt libs. Though it's probably better to use more system libs, because of security updates. Anyway, I did a check and video preview does work for me on Ubuntu 1...

Re: Ubuntu packages

It's libphonon_gstreamer.so:

Code: Select all

djcj ~ $ LANG=C readelf -d /usr/lib/xnviewmp/lib/phonon_backend/libphonon_gstreamer.so | grep libQtOpenGL
 0x0000000000000001 (NEEDED) Shared library: [libQtOpenGL.so.4]

xnview wrote:But in the package you have already the qt library??
libQtOpenGL.so.4 is required by some of the libraries or binaries inside the package, but it's missing from your release tarball.

Re: RPM packages

Maybe you want to add the usage of chrpath to delete the pointless runpaths from the ELF files, like I did: https://github.com/darealshinji/xnviewm ... pec.in#L21

Re: Linux: can't set wallpaper

I figured out how to set the wallpaper for MATE in console: gsettings set org.mate.background picture-filename /usr/share/backgrounds/linuxmint/default_background.jpg To display it zoomed, stretched or whatever: gsettings set org.mate.background picture-options wallpaper gsettings set org.mate.backg...

Probably, as XnView includes exiftools and Qt. I reworked my script a little so that it asks for the right path to the system exiftools libraries, which differs on RPM distros.

RPM packages

There are no RPM packages provided for XnViewMP, so I made a quick lookup on how to build RPMs and created a spec file and scripts to do that: https://github.com/darealshinji/xnviewmp-rpm However, I'm running Ubuntu, so I can't really check how good those packages work. Maybe someone who's experienc...

Re: Build "cleaner" Debian packages

Unfortunately I don't know much about RPM packaging. But replacing XnView's ExifTool with the system one's is relatively easy. Let's assume xnview is installed in /usr/lib/xnviewmp: # delete xnview's exiftools rm -rf /usr/lib/xnviewmp/AddOn/lib/File rm -rf /usr/lib/xnviewmp/AddOn/lib/Image rm -f /us...

Can you build cleaner Debian packages for future releases? Here's the Lintian output from the current 64 bit package: djcj: Downloads $ lintian XnViewMP-linux-x64.deb E: xnview: binary-or-shlib-defines-rpath opt/XnView/Plugins/IlmImf.so /home/pierre/viewer/Plugins/OpenEXR/ilmbase-1.0.2/lib E: xnview...

As the title says. This should definitely be fixed.
