I have tried the denoise filter on a few photos but it doesn't seem to do anything.
Do you have an image you could upload that Pierre could use to easily check operation of the filter on a Mac?

Re: Slice One BIG photo into many small photos at once?

You could use your C code to open formats that it can read, and NConvert once to convert other files to a format that it can read, so things aren't too bad?

Otherwise, have you looked at ImageMagick to check if it can output to multiple files?

Re: Slice One BIG photo into many small photos at once?

My C code run much faster of course, but i would prefer to use XnView because of compatibility of many picture format etc. But speed is so slow :( because of this situation :( You're using the 64-bit version? If you have no alternative for certain file formats, you could at any rate test my suggest...

Re: Slice One BIG photo into many small photos at once?

I know some tricks to run this faster. But i was looking for another syntax to slide into many at once if possible. I can do in my C code. Much more faster. Because i load to photo memory at once and produce into sliced photos at once... I was looking the same in XnView batch if possible? NConvert ...

it's 500 file formats in reading About>Formats XnView software downloads in general only include some of the more popular plug-ins, additional plug-ins to support reading, and in some cases also writing, other formats being available for download separately. However, now that some XnView software i...

Re: How to filter images with specific dimensions?

If you could then sort by 'Total pixels' as in Dabola's post above that would be the ideal, wouldn't it?

You could then presumably delete all images with fewer than a certain number of pixels directly.

Re: Noise reduction (aka denoise) with XnViewMP on Mac?

There is no menu item for Adobe Photoshop plugins in the menu; actually I saw that in some screenshot and was looking exactly for it before I posted my question. So I thought perhaps it's not supported for XnViewMP on Mac. I've checked and Adobe 8BF plug-ins seem to be only designed for Windows... :(

Re: Noise reduction (aka denoise) with XnViewMP on Mac?

I did search the manual, forum and Google but could not find a clear answer to my questions so I post them here: - How can I do noise reduction (denoise) with XnViewMP on Mac? - Does XnViewMP on Mac support plugins? - Are there denoise plugins that work with XnViewMP? If you haven't done so already...

when you zoom in?
Yes, I have "fit image to window" enabled, so small images always open zoomed in.
There is an option Tools > Settings... > View -- View tab : High zoom quality which may be what you need?

Re: How to filter images with specific dimensions?

There is no column of 'total number of pixels' in XnView so I had to do that myself in Excel. So I exported the list of files (names with their W+H pixel sizes) to Excel, then calculated total pixels sizes there. In case total pixel size is below 300.000 add 'delete' to the filename, else add 'keep...

Doubleclick on file in Windows Explorer opens XnViewMP in fullview

I would prefer that MP would open in the standard view, i.e. with menu etc. etc. like the standard XnView does. Is there a setting that I did not find to get this behaviour? Yes... :) Tools > Settings... > General -- General tab Then scroll down to Mode when starting with a file -- Normal I think t...

Re: How to filter images with specific dimensions?

If your monitor is 2560x1440 px and has a 27" diagonal, it should be possible using trigonometry to calculate the pixels per inch of the display, and so calculate the image size on that screen... There is actually an easier way, as you have the monitor in front of you, that should be accurate enoug...

Re: Calculate total number of pixels

I've looked all over Internet, checked out quite a number of image viewers (within VM) - but haven't found any image viewer that offers a column with with 'Total Pixels'. I have another thread about how I can filter/select and then batch delete images that are below a specific size, because they sh...
