And if the target file format supports EXIF, the ability to write standard info to the files automatically. For example, when I batch scan a roll of negatives it would be nice if the resulting TIFFs already contain the basics such as author / owner / creator, camera make and model, etc.

Yip, and the ColorCast filter works so wonderfully on negatives!

Using 1.80.1, when I do an "Acquire into..." the program overwrites existing files, unless I manually increase the starting number. Is there a way to automatically continue where the previous batch ended, or better yet to automatically fill in empty "slots"?
