In XNView Classic search you can search for Image/Video/Audio-files.
I'd appreaciate to have this feature in XNView MP also.

Re: 0.86: Opening subdirectory of directory symbolic link from thumbnails pane changes path to the target of the symlink
Actually it appears to be a bit inconsistent. I tested with the current version 1.4.3 (sorry for using this thread! Should i create a new topic instead?) If you click on the symlink in the frame showing the preview-images and the path atop then XNViewMP jumps to the target folder. If - instead - you...

Please show comment/description in statusbar
The image's comment resp. description is shown in the statusbar by XNview Classic.
In XNViewMP it is not possible to set this option.
I find it very useful to see this information when browsing the images.
Now in XNViewMP you have to flip from preview to info for each image

Re: 0.86: Opening subdirectory of directory symbolic link from thumbnails pane changes path to the target of the symlink
I confirm! XNViewMP handles symlinks different from XNView. I use windows symbolic links to organize my picture's folders. XNView respects the symlinks and just opens them transparently, whereas XNViewMP jumps into the target folder. As a result the entries in xnview.db don't match any more :( Is th...

Re: Request: Importing from old, and GPS editing
Maybe in XnViewMP : Tools > Settings > Catalog > Tools > "Import category.db" ? Thank you, Michel! Is this for xnview.db or for category.db? I tried both and in both cases i got a success message. Now in XNViewMP category i find a category xnview with the expected subcategories! And - as it looks l...

Is there any update on this? I searched but didn't find any migration utility.

Re: page selection for .mpo's disabled by embedded comments
I tried with 1.99.1.
It is a bit weird. At first glance it is possible to set comments (descript.ion) and embedded comments (ctrl D). It appears the mpo's are left intact.
XNView itself still recognizes two frames but doesn't show the second frame any longer .

Re: Corrupt descript.ion file
I can confirm to michaeld2. We have XNView 1.98.2 togehter with the image files on an ext. usb harddisk. I used it with my Windows XP system to add descriptions (ctrl d) - worked well. My husband used this equipment with her Win7 notepad and ended up in .bak file copies of every jpg she tried to add...

I'd appreceate if this would be changed to relative paths like for example in the sld-files.
