Re: Full support for zip and rar files

Re: Full support for zip and rar files

As with everything, there will be someone with some reason to do it, but do you want to be the jack of all trades bloatware? It'...

Re: Full support for zip and rar files
You can argue all you want about how people are "supposed" to use file formats, but if you look at the entire INDUSTRIES such as comic books that use archive files, not tarballs, as the standard format, you see that this is a critical feature for many users. Re: Full support for zip and rar files
I continue to be unable to use XnView as my main software tool due to the lack of this critical feature. There is a much more active discussion of this under the MP suggestions.

Re: Full support for zip and rar files
As previously stated, zip and rar ( sometimes under the extensions cbz and cbr, but the actual format isn't different) are the most common means of distributing large sets of image files such as comics, scanned documents, and large sets of photographs. Support for viewing these files as if they were...

Re: Full support for zip and rar files
I have XnView installed alongside ACDSEE and I use it for everything else because it is just better. But I still can't get rid of ACDSEE without this feature integrated into XnView.

Re: Full support for zip and rar files
Have you ever heard of USENET (aka, "News Groups" [Not google groups])? 99% of images are distributed via USENET are held in a compressed-file container. Whether or not any actual compression occurred is not relevant. Compression programs can store the files without compression, which might not be ...
