Note that the Tools menu only has "Change timestamp" in the gallery view, not when you open an individual image.
It would be useful to add that option when viewing an individual image as well.

No shift+click?
I know this is an old topic, but it's the one that shows up at the top of Google search results. I used Shift+click to select multiple items, but the background of the thumbnails doesn't change in any way. I can't easily see which images I've selected. The only indication is in the status bar. Initi...

Re: Changelog not updated since 0.94.1?
Another vote for updating the changelog at https://www.xnview.com/en/xnviewmp/#downloads with the changes from https://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=82&t=41263&p=166596. Maybe it would be easiest to just link to that post, until there's time to log only the most important changes. But I was a...

We've been posting bugs on the forum, but more developers can do more work than one developer. It's as simple as that

Keyboard shortcuts don't work in folder with HEIC files
I have a folder with HEIC files. After I press Enter on a file XnView MP opens it in a new tab. So far so good. The problem is that navigation and other functions are disabled: Left/Right keys don't work PgUp/PgDn don't work the left/right arrows in the toolbar are greyed out. Del doesn't bring up t...

Ctrl+Alt+S shortcut for Export not working on Linux version
Nothing happens when I press Ctrl+Alt+S with the cursor over an image in the Browser, or while viewing an image.
I wouldn't complain if Alt+T then "E" worked, but I see that submenu items don't have accelerators at all (!).

F2 to rename doesn't work in v0.88
Another regression: pressing F2 to rename a file no longer works in Viewer mode. I haven't tried to reconfigure that keyboard shortcut.

Can't set "A" as the keyboard shortcut in Viewer mode
Another regression in 0.88 (this worked fine in a previous version): I can't set the key "A" to be the shortcut for "Good (move to next photo)" in Viewer mode. It does work in Browser mode, but in viewer mode, when I press "A", nothing happens. There was no warning about any conflict when I set that...

Can't view images after renaming folder
After I rename a folder and view files from another folder, I can no longer view files from the first folder. 1. Make sure you can view files from folder "A" and sibling folder "B". 2. In the Folders tree, rename "A" to "A2". 3. View a file from folder B. 4. Click back on A and try to view another f...

Menu disappears after viewing an image
I'm on Ubuntu 16.04 and the latest version of XnView MP, 0.88, introduced a regression: After I view an image from the browser, the menu disappears. It's replaced with the file path. In the system settings, Appearance -> Behavior, I have Menu visibility = Always displayed. Animated GIF screencast at...

File size not updated after saving JPG
1. Open a typical 16MP JPEG file, which will by about 5MB in size
2. Select a small portion of it, Shift+X, then Ctrl+S to save.
Notice how in the status bar, the original (large) size is still displayed.
