1) On Creating a Slideshow, the default 'Create' window is too big for my screen, and the bottom (including bottom right for resizing, OK and and Cancel buttons) is hidden behind Task Bar, and hence inaccessible. yes JPG is shown, else all your JPG will be hidden

and IPTC/XMP are not updated?
For categories, you can add categories to files in browser

XnView MP 0.90 is the only piece of software that claims it no Longer supports Mavericks.
Is there any reason why it's no longer supported?

XnView MP is based on QT library, and lastest version doens't support anymore 10.9
