Re: XnView Shell Extension
Could this shell ex have the Batch Processing xnview feature in the operations list? I usually crop lots of daily youtube print screens and opening the xnview browser in a folder full of large png's is very slow as xnview tries to load a thumbnail of every large png even in details view in the xnvie...

Option under Settings>Browser to disable thumbnails
When opening the browser in my Screenshots folder I'm dealing with a folder of hundreds of 4+ MB PNGs. Scrolling the browser in this folder is practically impossible and I have to use Pg Up/Pg Dn and even that is very cumbersome. I see you're focusing on the XnViewMP now but would it be easy to add ...

Open last open viewer windows on start-up (Remember session)
Having lots of reference images in viewer windows up during work (Many of the same images re-opened every following day for over a week). Would like to be able to have xnview remember all the open viewer windows with what image, window size, panning and window positions on next system or xnview star...

Minimum viewer window size (smaller wanted)
Could you add this setting to xnview.ini? after having hidden everything including menubar there isn't much point in limiting how small a window can be on start up and if you want to open many windows viewing images that are quite small and clutter your free desktop space with them for reference whe...

Re: use glib/glibmm locale_to_utf8 or locale_from_utf8?
mmmm Nice initiative! How about making it open source? The #1 problem of open source software, the lack of a clear direction and design decision making would probably be mitigated by the fact that: Most participators would already have tried XnView and know what to model XnViewMP after? Just a thoug...

use glib/glibmm locale_to_utf8 or locale_from_utf8?
why not use glib to enable unsupported string formats for opening file paths in xnview? glib is cross platform and glibmm is c++ wrapper, easilly deployed by downloading gtkmm prebuilt api for win32 which includes glib and glibmm as part of gtkmm dependencies. http://live.gnome.org/gtkmm/MSWindows I...

EDIT: oh so that's why x-\) I just wrote that the problem doesn't seem to lie in those settings but seems to be a finite freeze which always happens first time xnview needs to know the next (or previous) image. (so 'read ahead' on would trigger this freeze at startup as it needs to know of next dire...

could not an option to either manually set the minimum window size or disable it be added? atleast the minimum window height has no reason in my head. there's nothing that gets truncated in the gui if you reduce window (image area) height to 0. and about window width I guess the thought is that it g...

that sounds like a good design since alt is always associated with regular menu bars in windows. for me not being able to hide menu bar is still very tedious if I should be frank :) if one could hide it, not only the space of it would be saved but windows could scale down even further in width (I of...

I eagerly vote for atleast a setting to set default behavior to Copy / ctrl+c == copy file (like copy file in windows explorer). Without that feature it's a pain to browse (Viewer) through a large amount of pics and copy the favorites to a fav/ directory for example. For me this is a really importan...
