Re: Slow startup, seems to access external drives - Linux
I can only tell you that every once in awhile, when I open XNviewMP, I get removable drive access. I see and hear the drives spinning up.

Re: Slow startup, seems to access external drives - Linux
I typically use /media/username/drivename across NFS, local internal mounts and removable drives.
I have excluded these drive paths from "Catalog" with no real effect.
Once in awhile, I get a super slow startup and it seems to hit these excluded drives.

Re: Slow startup, seems to access external drives - Linux
I'm not exactly sure what you mean. I have probably 10 drives via direct connection, USB drives and NFS drives.
There should be a setting somewhere to not catalog anything but the directory I am opening an image from, I would imagine.

Re: Slow startup, seems to access external drives - Linux
No problems with that. This is just when I am opening xnview for the first time, after it hasn't been open for awhile. Seems like it's caching and searching for all connected drives, etc. and spending a lot of time on that.
I'd love to be able to turn off that searching. I've even put in paths to ...

Re: Keyboard loses focus randomly (linux)
Ok, got it to happen again when I was going through a Screenshot directory of 100's of files, going one by one in the middle pane (thumbnails) and on the 2nd or 3rd file move I did, it lost focus.
Here is the relevant (but not very useful) output from the command line I ran it from (some info ...

If I understand you correctly, no.
This is opening an image in Dolphin or Krusader and opens in the full 3-pane layout of the browser.

Re: Keyboard loses focus randomly (linux)
Seems to be random, but out of every 10-12 images in a list I am going through, I will get one time where I get a flash of a sub-window (dialog box perhaps) on top, and it takes away the focus. Then I have to click back into the middle pane with the thumbnails to return focus.
Perhaps I could try ...

Slow startup, seems to access external drives - Linux
Version 1.8.x
Clicking on an image and opening Xnviewmp for a jpg image is slow, and seems to access all drives to read from them.
Needs to be a setting to not do this, as it's not necessary in most cases.

Keyboard loses focus randomly (linux)
Using XNviewMP on Ubuntu Linux.
Been using this software at work for years, and love it. On Linux, it's been just a few months - was looking to replace geeqie with something more powerful.
