Re: Allow adding/editing/deleting PNG embedded comments
Perhaps right click > Metadata > Edit comment (Ctrl D) ?
Select the appropriate field and edit ...
Comment is a file property, not a "classical" metadata (exif, iptc, xmp)
Thanks for your reply. That's very helpful and it seems to work. (For others: you may not have the Metadata menuitem in ...

Allow "Save As" to save to current folder
When I perform a "Save As" operation, I typically want to save a copy of the image to the same folder as the current image, but with a different name.
XnView MP seems to always default to the desktop folder for the "Save As" operation.
Is there a way to allow "Save As" to default to the current ...

Allow adding/editing/deleting PNG embedded comments
PNG files can have embedded comments. XnView MP will correctly show them in a file's properties dialog box.
However, I don't see a way to easily add/edit/delete PNG embedded comments for an existing image.
Can such functionality be added, please?

Allow removal of PNG embedded comments when saving
In XnView MP's "Save As" dialog box, one can click on "Options".
That will open the "Write settings" dialog box.
In this dialog box, one can click options such as "Keep EXIF", "Keep IPTC", or "Keep XMP".
There is no option, however, for PNG embedded comments. Thus, there seems to be no way to ...

Re: Reduce height of close icons (X) in tab bar
Hi. Are you referring to the OS theme or an XnView MP theme?
The 'X' buttons I'm referring to are the ones in XnView MP's tab bar, which are distinct from those provided by the OS to close the XnView MP window itself.

Re: XnView MP 1.4.0
Why doesn't the XnViewMP page on the website include the changelog for the latest version (1.4.0)? It only goes up to 1.3.1.
This has been an issue for quite some time. I finally stopped looking at the changelog on the main page because it was often outdated; instead I started coming to these ...

Reduce height of close icons (X) in tab bar
For landscape monitors (which is most monitors), vertical space is at a premium.
Unfortunately, when XnView MP's option to include close buttons (X) for each tab is enabled, the height of each tab increases significantly (at least on the systems I tested).
It will be beneficial to reduce the ...

Download hashes are wrong (or wrong/corrupt/infected files on the server)
Download hashes are wrong for at least some of the v1.40 releases (or the wrong/corrupt/infected files were placed on the server). For example, the 64 bit ZIP download is supposed to be:

Re: XnView MP 1.4.0
Just FYI, the 64 bit 'SETUP' download does not match the currently posted hash (403A7D2BE73CFBCDED766013DE394965037161C2E69D42AC6CA66986F5DF8339)
Same problem with the 64 bit ZIP download which is supposed to be:

Holy Burning Retinas Batman!
I upgraded to v1.40 on a Windows box, and it no longer honors the dark theme set in the OS.
I went through all the settings in the Settings UI, and couldn't find a solution.
After a bit more poking around, I found, View -> Theme, which fixes the issue (almost).
So for those with the same issue ...

Re: XnView MP 1.02
Thank you for the update.
Please note that, according to my SHA256 hash tool, the SHA256 hash for the Win64 ZIP of version 1.02 currently available on https://www.xnview.com/en/xnviewmp/#downloads does not match:

JPEG Lossless Transformations not available when launch XnView MP with a file in the command line
Typically, I launch XnView MP by double-clicking on an image file. When I do this, "JPEG Lossless Transformations" are not available (the menuitem is dimmed). Performing a rotate then renders a lossy image.
If, instead, I launch XnView MP without any file specified, then search for the file within ...
