It was already implemented some time ago for XnView MP viewtopic.php?f=104&t=43901&p=183917&hi ... uv#p183917 so I dunno why same didn't added for nconvert because this is very useful option.

I dunno why but if I open avif image from XnView with open file command all ok. But if I open it from Windows explorer with mouse click then instead of image XnView shows just white screen with no errors.

So far problem still exist: for example if nconvert spots "fake" png that is webp for real then it's removes transparency again if used "-merge_alpha -truecolors". But "-32bits" works fine - I think it should be suggested for me instead others. could you post image file with problem? Example image ...
