Re: Shortcut key for EXIF
if possible, could you, please, add a hot key for showing EXIF information. Ctrl+E opens only general info panel, and there's still need ot take the mouse and click on the EXIF pane. I think, using some of the F keys would be very convenient. You can use "Ctrl-e" (or alt-enter) and then press the r...

I tried my best to reproduce this, but without success. (good or bad ? :)) The selection was always correct on my system, even though rotating the images caused them to be ordered differently than before rotating. Running on a fresh install of version 1.74 on XP. My best guess is that this bug is tr...

I really tried for more than whole 10 minutes to regenerate this, but only managed to generate problem number 2! (Using version 1.74 on XP) Possibly some settings that could trigger this? Anika, perhaps you can provide more detailed instruction how to generate problem 1. This sounds like a rather na...

I think second is the most suitable unit. But if input of decimal fractions of seconds would be recognized, that might bet a good solution (and indicate 500 msec as 0.5). Actually you can currently type in 0.5 but the slideshow tool interprets that as 0 (seems to ignore the input after the dot) and ...

Re: Ghostscript/EPS conversion with GFlax
Will you please explain the difference between AFPL & GPL and the problem with xnview ? The difference between AFPL and GPL versions is only the licence. But new releases are first released under AFPL license and only later under the GPL license. So the latest GPL version is not as recent as the la...

To 1. My question was if XnView already uses this method or not. But it doesn't. Repeatedly encoding/saveing a jpeg image with little or no editing using always the same compression ratio will result in files of almost the same size. Every recompression will cause loss of information. Just open and...

Re: JPEG compression as lossless as possible
Is it possible to implement this? Especially for smaller changes like red eye reduction it would be very useful not to recompress the whole file. Repeatedly encoding/saveing a jpeg image with little or no editing using always the same compression ratio will result in files of almost the same size. ...

I am running Windows2000. Is it possible this has something to do with the OS version? Hmm, maybe... on my Windows XP (SP2) for filetypes handled by XnView I can only change used application or revert to previously used one (which in my case was MS Paint :) ) I have had this problem with MS Office ...

I think you misunderstand. I'm talking about the file types tab in Windows XP's Folder Options. OK, sorry :) Actually, the file types associated with XnView do show up in the "Folder options - File types" dialog of Windows Explorer on my system! And there I can modify actions and icon ! I am runnin...

Re: Lossless rotation with keyboard - is this possible?
Would be a lot more convenient than using mouse.... I agree. I use "Alt-T-J" (with the english interface) to open up the JPEG rotation dialog. But even after opening that dialog it is impossible to select the -90 or +90 rotations with the keyboard (or any rotate operation for that matter, only flip...

I agree with you Helmut. This feels to much like an ad for me to be included within the application. No matter how good a free service is it should not be mentioned so explicitly unless it had some direct benefit for xnview. Mentioning this in a FAQ as an example of a useful service for xnview's use...

Opening subfolders from context menu.
When in browser view and bringing up the context menu when a subfolder is selected and choosing 'Open', then nothing happens! But when pressing enter (the keyboard shortcut for this action) the subfolder is however correctly browsed. Other items that don't work on context menu when a folder is selec...
