Re: edit IPTC... edit XMP... greyed out for some folders
Now the keywords/subjects should be written in the files, is this correct? Yes, if export options were set when the files were categorized ( Settings>Metadata>Export categories ... and Create XMP and/or Create IPTC ) You can check some of your photos by looking at the IPTC or XMP tabs in the Inform...

Re: Renaming pairs of files
In your 1st examplei, if only files to be renamed are selected , just add a single letter "b" : - Use only "Replace" .jpg With b.jpg scan102.jpg > scan102b.jpg scan104.jpg > scan104b.jpg scan106.jpg > scan106b.jpg ... To make it easier to select your back photos, you can add a category to them ... T...

Re: edit IPTC... edit XMP... greyed out for some folders
Were these photos ever accompanied by raw photos? XnViewMp could have considered them as sidecars... This didn't bring back the correct catalog (categories tree), so, in my work to reconstruct it, reassinging some categories and moving others, I came across this problem. To rebuild catalog, you must...

Re: edit IPTC... edit XMP... greyed out for some folders
In your first screenshot, all jpg photos have the right "format color " for jpg's , Light yellow. (see Settings > File list > Format Color) but in the 2nd screenshot , only a few of them have this correct color, corresponding to jpg ... it means that probably the other photos, without color format a...

Re: Update files from catalog and vice versa
A clean start is as follows: - Same informations are in the catalog and in metadata in the photos. - You have added star ratings, categories, color labels, face tags in your photos in XnViewMP with export options enabled. - You can see that each category assigned to an image corresponds to a keyword...

Re: Plugins and Addons
And to make this plugin work so that people are added to the catalog, up to V1.4.5 you need to validate the Metadata > Import XMP keywords option.
Perhaps, it will be better to wait for next version of "Face tag" plugin to ask for an update of wiki doc (see previous posts)

Update catalog from files does not delete people from catalog
Choose a photo where face tags are already stored as xmp data . Catalog filter shows a count for these people. Select this photo, Use : Metadata > Clean > XMP use : View > Update catalog from files :bug: In catalog filter, the count stays at same value for these people. Selecting a people shows the ...

Re: Suggestions d'amélioration du plugin "Face tag"
See issue for current status and some details. Non, les XMP so...

I can rename the jpg photo DSC30091.JPG to Abcdef.ghij (or, more conventionally, the opposite ). It's still a photo in jpg format, whatever its name.

Re: Automatically copy keywords for multiple files
I tried today, it's working fine. But I have set the parent folder in base path. In your example if you enter "C:\photos" as base path, you will have to select each subfolder, one at a time, to build the catalog. (maybe possible) (selecting c:\photos in "import folder" does not work very well when c...

Re: lock "Info-tab-bar" (file, exif, xmp, iptc, gps)
I often look for some missing informations (iptc city, xmp:comment) in xmp or iptc tabs, by quick scrolling through the files with the > key.
With the current behaviour, it's easy
Sometimes iptc city is missing, sometimes iptc tab is empty, I can quickly check this ...
