Re: Quick tagging

in 'edit mode'? No in the browser. I have a wide screen, so I'm using layout 7, with the preview on the right. As I go through the thumbnails, I'd like to do a quick tagging, then eventually apply the correct action/rate/delete to these images. Being able to tag and move to the next image in the sa...

Re: 0.98.3 crash in linux

I think that I found what's the sequence for crashing: 1. I have a directory with images and the xmps from other/older dams. 2. When XV reads them, it creates a whole bunch of category from the older xmps (which I don't want). 3. I switch to the category tab and delete all the categories except for ...

xnview wrote: Tue May 18, 2021 12:12 pm in this folder, which format do you have?
Do you mean images?

I have "a bunch":

PEF: Pentax K-20D
DNG: Pentax K-20D
CR2: Canon 7D + 70D + 7DMk2
RAF: Fuji X-T10 + X-Pro2

and I always use the filter: Images to not show the XMPs.

Thanks

Re: 0.98.3 crash in linux

Any suggestion on what to do? Have you tried both versions that are available in AUR? https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/?O=0&SeB=nd&K=xnviewmp&outdated=&SB=n&SO=a&PP=50&do_Search=Go I can't reproduce the problem on any of them. Yes, I have tried them both. It didn't work. What are you using? KDE (...

xnview wrote: Tue May 11, 2021 1:46 pm you had problem with 0.98.2 too?
I haven't used: 0.98.2.

I was using 0.98.0 for a while, then stopped using xnview, and now I was trying to use 0.98.3

Re: 0.98.3 crash in linux

I've tried on Manjaro 20, and no problem. In the selected files, you have only image files? Yes I only selected the file images with the click-shift-click. BUT, I also had the filter image files only that eliminated the XMPs. OS: Manjaro Linux x86_64 Host: MS-7693 2.0 Kernel: 5.10.34-1-MANJARO Upti...

Re: Quick access tagging

That should do it as long as you did it withXnView closed The open it and go to categories and there will be a big box at the top of the list Nope, it doesn't have big box at the top of the categories in the categories tab cat ~/.config/xnviewmp/xnview.ini [Preview] actionMode=1 info=@ByteArray(\x1...

Re: Quick Search in Categories

Thank you elfroggio / Syv - that is clear. So ... XnView can't yet quick search IPTC but only XMP. To save data into XMP using Ctrl+I edits the original, does not add to sidecar and creates an additional (backup) file. Can I write a keyword tag in a manner that does not create a backup copy but _is...

roadcone wrote: Tue Mar 02, 2021 1:52 pm Just tried Ctrl+I Edit IPTC - must use ExifTool as it was very, very slow and I now have a load of _originals that I don't want.
Let me pipe in:
  • IPTC data is modifying the original raw image after doing a backup as: xxx.ext_original
  • XMP data is written to the XMP sidecar

Quick access tagging

0.98.2 appimage on Opensuse Leap 15.2

I'm trying to use the new quick access.

How do I enable it?

I added to: ~/.config/xnviewmp/xnview.ini, in the [Preview] section:

Code: Select all

newTagsEdit=true
Can somebody direct me to the correct section that it should be?

Thanks

Can the edit XMP applied to many images at the same time? When I selected 5 images, I click on "Write to all files", XnViewMP doesn't close. I have to eventually click on Cancel.
Yes,"write to al filesl" does the job.
Then, we have to close the window anyway
Thanks
