I send you an animated gif

Yes,
I was creating new ones and moving them by drag and drop.

When i closed XnView and restarted it, the categories where listed ok. Thus I still believe that XnView has them stored correctly internally, but somehow the tree doesn't get updated correctly while it's Content gets edited.

When I assign a category to a portrait photo the photo gets rotated let in XnViewMP to landscape.
To show it again in portrait I have to rotate it once right (then it rotates 180 degrees) and once left.

I played around with categories. There are some refresh issues with the category tree in the data pane categories.

I created a few new categories and subcategories.
I also drag and dropped a few around. And I also deleted a few.

In single view I rotated an image with Ctrl+L, then I saved it with overwrite. It looked ok, when I switched from this image to the next and back. But when I switched to a third image (twice forward) and back (twice backwards) the orientation of the image was again like ...

In the pull down for labels the descriptions for the german Interface are mixed up. (XnViewMP 0.76.1 x64 (Oct 23 2015))

Please see screenshot for english Labels, which is IMHO correct. English Labels.jpg "Excellent" and "Excellent (move to next image)" are in sync.

Applying a category to a picture that is upright with an Exif Orientation 'right-top (6)' rotates thumbnail.

This only happens once to a file, so for testing you'll have to use each time a different picture.

It also shows the 'wrong' Exif dates when 'create exif date' is NOT checked and the individual Exif dates are NOT checked.
Thus, IMHO it's not normal. But as I said it's only a minor issue, since it doesn't cause any damage.

"Tools/Change Timestamp" doesn't create Exif times when they do not exits, but the checkbox for "Create EXIF metadata if needed" is checked. And all three EXIF Dates are checked too.

When XnViewMP 0.64 is running, it updates itself, when files or folders get added to a folder (at least that's how it felt).

But when I add/insert a card reader with a card to my pc, the newly created drive for the removable disk (in my case G:) doesn't show up in the treeview of XnViewMP.

The bug exists in the "tools/change timestamp".
I had selected two files, one with Exif times (taken, digitized, modified), the other without Exif times.
For the file with Exif times, the correct times are shown in the second column for the existing times. Now switch with the arrow below the preview ...
