Re: 1.5.3: Unable to open any video files in slideshow
Is the choice not to allow for videos in slideshows a permanent and intentional design decision for XnViewMP, or is re-establishing a few features from the original XnView's slideshow functionality a project that might be considered for implementation in the future? I still use the original XnView f...

Re: Videos don't display in viewer/preview/fullscreen/slideshow modes in Windows 10
Apologies for my delayed response. I had assumed I would receive email notification if there was a reply in the forum, so I hadn't been checking back in here and completely missed your question. To answer your original question, yes, it fails on all video formats. Interestingly, I independently stum...

Videos don't display in viewer/preview/fullscreen/slideshow modes in Windows 10
I'm running into an odd issue with video playback in XnView on Windows 10 machines. Videos play normally when opened in a separate tab from the browser (right click on file > click "Open"), so it appears that XnView has all of the codecs and hooks it needs to play videos on a basic level. However, w...

Re: GIF looping stops Quick Slideshow (2.32)
It looks like this issue was accidentially introduced to the standard slideshow (.sld file) functionality in 2.49. If a slideshow plays an animated GIF file with the "GIF loop" option enabled, it loops indefinitely. I tested rolling back to 2.48 and GIFs were functioning normally (just looping up to...

Ah... based on your name, I thought maybe he had finally brought someone else on to help him code. Thanks for the suggestion, in any case.

Re: Slideshow File Type Filter
I currently have the SlideShow setting on "Use all image files in current folder and its subfolders", but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Regardless of which option I choose, it still tries to load video files (mp4 and the like) if they're in the folder. I figured that setting may only relate to...

Slideshow File Type Filter
Would it be feasible to add the ability to filter which file types get loaded from the selected folders for an XnView slideshow? I use the slideshow feature quite frequently on a variety of sources, and I noticed that XnView pretty much tries to run any file that exists in folders selected for the s...

Re: Only cycles throug first 32000 img in quick slide show (
The issue I'm describing happens when you use random/shuffle even on a normal slideshow; it's entirely unrelated to a quick slideshow. Perhaps I should create a separate topic, but I thought the issue was close enough in nature that it was better to just include it here.

Re: Only cycles throug first 32000 img in quick slide show (
I just realized that the "quick" slideshow code may be different from the normal code, so I should mention that I was running into the cap creating a slideshow from the normal (CTRL+L) window, in case that makes any difference.

Re: Only cycles throug first 32000 img in quick slide show (
Sorry to resurrect a super old thread, but I was just playing around with loading in all of the images on my computer into a randomized slideshow for kicks, and I found that this bug still appears in v2.0, although the cap seems to have increased. At this point, it looks like it just cycles through ...

Animated Gif Looping in Slideshow
Sorry to revive a really old topic, but I just noticed this behavior myself. It's not a huge issue, obviously, but it would be quite nice if animated GIFs exhibited the same behavior in slideshow mode as they did in normal view mode in terms of looping.

Re: Leading Punctuation Sorting With "Name (Numeric)"
Certainly; here's a quick example. Traditional "Name" sorting: "!Cover" sorts to the top, then numbers, then alpha characters: http://k.min.us/idq6Da.PNG "Name (Numeric)" sorting: First numbers (sorted naturally), then "!Cover", then alpha characters: http://k.min.us/iduX7E.PNG Thanks for the quick ...

Leading Punctuation Sorting With "Name (Numeric)"
I'm sure I'm in a tiny minority here, but I often use leading punctuation, such as an exclamation point, to ensure that given file(s) sort to the absolute top of a folder. Within XnView, the leading punctuation sorts to the top with the standard "Name" option, but when I switch the sort method to "N...
