Thumb.db

Question about the thumb.db 1. Can this file be viewed by some thumb db viewer? (tried both: thumbs_viewer, thumbcache_viewer, but they came up with an error: "This file is not a thumbs database". The only 'valid' ones are the thumbcache_nnnn.db in C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Exp...

Generation of thumbnails, select multiple folders instead of 1 by 1

v0.94b3 Settings->Catalog: add folders. AFAIK one can select folders just one by one, XnViewMP processes folders one by one.
Is not possible to add multiple folders first and then have XnViewMP process all of them?

Thanks.

Re: Rename files-add modified date-time

Sorry for the very late reply. Reason is that for renaming I use another tool, as the feature requested isn't available within XnViewMP. Using the other tool, I often select multiple files (about the same subject) and rename them adding a seq# and modified date-time. So I would get something like Pi...

Re: How to install a beta version

Were the above instructions helpful, can you or anyone else provide any useful comment on them? Sorry for not being able to reply earlier. Many Thanks for your explanation. Frankly I was not aware it XnViewMP beta could be run without being installed. (I didn't try it, to be honest). Matter is solv...

Re: XnViewMP v0.93 crashing when displaying TTF files

I am sorry, I can't.

It is not just 1/one TTF, the folder contains *many* TTFs, I mean many...
So probably XnViewMP crashed because there are too many.

XnViewMP v0.93 crashing when displaying TTF files

When displaying .ttf files (as thumbnails), XnViewMP starts of nicely. It displays the files correctly. Then after, say, 5-10 seconds it crashes. Tried this twice now, same problem. Windows probably deleted the .dmp files, I can't find them anymore. - Eventlog showing // Fault bucket 212604346216530...

How to install a beta version

I have an installed XnViewMP x64 and would like to check whether the beta solved a case that I submitted. Normally I don't use a beta: I wait for the final release, but in this case I would like to check it out. It would be nice if the beta includes a document/text file telling me how to install it....

Re: How to display the 'Automatic Levels'?

Please take some test photo.
Load it into XnViewMP, then apply automatic levels.
Okay.
Now, after you have done that, could you then view/establish the levels of what has been changed?
meaning: the levels of brightness, contrast, red, green, blue, etc.

Batch Enhance Colours - Saturation

When I go into Image > Adjust > Enhance colors there is a Saturation, being just 1 slider. In Batch Convert the Add Action > Map > Saturation is different (Red/Green/Blue/Cyan/Magenta/Yellow). Should I all set the same, e.g. -10 ? I don't know how to handle that. Also what should select for 'Hue' fr...

How to display the 'Automatic Levels'?

Is there a way to show the Automatic Levels settings? (Under Image > Map) Wish they were displayed somewhere. Most of the times the automatic levels are quite reasonable, but probably the contrast is a bit too high, or too much black, I don't know. What is in shadow becomes a little too dark, i.e. d...

Re: Can XnView (either, any) Preview Fonts?

Just found out, take dp4 Font Viewer Select the folder where fonts are located, normally, in case of Windows it is C:\Windows\Fonts but you can select any other folder Then ctrl select fonts, they will show up in the right hand panel. You may change the size and text to be displayed. dp4 Font Viewer...

Re: Can XnView (either, any) Preview Fonts?

Thanks. I know there are 3rd party tools. In fact I am using Directory Opus and it can show the fonts as well. However, it is slow, because it has to 'build up' the fonts, i.e. initially it does not show the font, just the file name, but after some seconds the fonts are being displayed, like images....

Re: Can XnView (either, any) Preview Fonts?

+1

I need a fontviewer for this, but most fontviewers display 1 font at the time.
When using a 3rd party Windows Explorer it shows the fonts in thumbnails, but that is slow.
XnView can build up a thumbnail cache which makes browsing / showing through many fonts at the same time much faster.
