Hmm, as of 2.0.0.2 (x64), XCF files which don't have a fixed 1:1 aspect ratio create stretched thumbnails in explorer, though display properly within the context menu extension.
They also appear solid black when first-created/updated - one has to navigate away from the folder then back to get the ...

Just keeping up the apparent tradition of pointing out that this still isn't fixed (197.2) [Win7 x64], despite being labelled as fixed in the 1.96 changelog.
Works (kind of) if the window on 2nd monitor is never maximized, but that rather defeats the purpose of viewing photos...
