gvfs-trash is actually deprecated for 7 years at least
I tried creating a bash script with the same name, but the error in Xnview still persists.

Delete to Recycle Bin - gio-trash vs gvfs-trash
I'm on Arch Linux, and I was never able to get Delete to recycle bin working since migrating from Debian-based distro. It seemed to be working in Debian though.
Despite Delete to Recycle bin enabled, the files are still deleted forever.

Delete to Recycle bin on Linux
Linux builds fail to delete files to Trash, they are deleted permanently, despite "Delete to Recycle Bin" checked in the settings.

Change Linux version application name
Could you change the application name from com.xnviewXnView to just xnview or xnviewmp
having a com.xnview.XnView.desktop instead of xnview.desktop file is very ugly, but needed for the correct window icon to show in a Wayland session instead of a generic W icon

Irregular select shapes
Could we have irregular select shapes.
It would be nice to be able to move angles of the rectangular selections, so we could have a trapezium for instance.
Also free select, i.e. lasso would be great.
I personally use it to cut away and fill with color serial numbers, names and other "specific" info ...

Linux version adds .jpg extension
I run the latest XNviewMP under linux with XFCE DE.
My default save format is .png
However, if you open a .jpg file in a browser, right-click and copy it, then paste to a new file in XNView and the save it, the file will get a second extension.
I.e. the file name will be filename.jpg.png
Also, if ...

Re: Clipboard exclusive and wipe
Hi, I wonder if anything is in the works to fix both issues? Thanks.
Also, after you import the clipboard in XnviewMP, it wipes the contents of the clipboard no matter what.

That's been something I requested over 10 years back, maybe it's high time to refresh it :)

Auto image size - Fit image with an offset
Hi Pierre
It would be nice to have another option in Settings/View/Auto image size similar to fit image to window but with a negative offset.
The use case for this is simple: I mostly use XNViewMP for cropping of images, and when you want to crop an image from either side, you have to scale it down ...
