Just a quick tip

For me what works well is to simply highlight the files that I want to resize, while in XnView, and then just press the ctrl-U shortcut for transformations. once there I click the "Transformations" tab. and there I select "resize" and "add" it to the blank list area. I like shortcuts and this seems ...

Zoom Lock does not maintain its position when browsing....

...zoomed images. If you view a large image after hitting shift+8 in order to zoom to actual image size, then use the 'page down' key to view the next image the picture will not be centered at the same coordinates. It will be centered on the upper left part of the image (assuming the image is bigger...

I'm surprised no one cares about this problem...

If I am looking at several pictures in a row shot of a bird in a tree for instance, now it is very hard to compare the bird with the zoom and position locked. Even if it is in the center of the frame! I guess I can start installing different versions, but it would be helpful to know if zoom locking ...

An alternate solution (at least in v1.92)

is to drag and drop the files by highlighting the thumbnails in the XnView and then just drag and drop them into Photoshop CS2's window, for instance. When I get a chance, I am going to have to see how I could do the same thing the way described above. I can't seem to quickly figure out how to do wh...

Zoom lock behavior in vers 1.92 (Dec 17 2007)

I have used several different versions of XnView, and occasionally I will find a feature that I had really liked gets changed, or at least performs differently in the version I am using now. Feature: Zoom Lock! Value: Very valuable feature!! Invoked by: Pressing Ctrl and / (the one on the number pad...

Re: I could support---

…I admit I struggled quite a long time to understand how the crop works  … - It's strongly recommended to give a glance on that page , and on the rest of the Manual when you don't get something ;) Kind regards, Claude Clo -LOL, but first I'll have to brush up on my French! ------...

Opening many .PSD Files at the same time to Photoshop.

I think I posted a question on how to do this, but I could not find it, so I will post the solution here in case someone else will find it useful: Problem: Highlite several .PSD files and use open command results in just one file opening. Solution: Instead of open, drag and drop the files into Photo...

Alien Skin Splat and the .rfr format

Hi- Splat has a feature for creating stylized frames around an image. In order to use this feature one must access content files for the frames which are stored in .rfr files. Now I've picked up a number of extra frames, and would like to be able to see thumbnail of them so that I can weed out dupli...

Why does Adobe think they will sell this product? Well for one thing, Photoshop CS2 doe not create embedded thumbnail images. Versions prior to CS2 did, which meant that PSD files created with photoshop could display thumbnail views in explorer. Now they can't. I've only recently installed CS2, and ...

Opening Multiple Files with an External Editor via Context M

HI- I could be mistaken because I have been using several different image viewers but I thought at one time it allowed "Opening Multiple Files with an External Editor via Context M"enu. In particular, I am trying to open usually .jpg's and .psd's in photoshop by highlighting them in XnView v180.1, r...

Hi All! First, I'll say that I'm no expert on metadata. My experience has been with a standalone product called "JPEG Cleaner". I started using it partly because I post images to forums quite often, and sometimes there are size limits for the uploads. I just I thought I'd relate my experience, which...

Oh, now I think I remember that this program does not have an uninstall, per se, correct? Then my big issue, is about cache. Can the cash files from the old version work with the new version. I'll probably just run it and find out, but just wanted to suggest on behalf of people whose computer is wir...

Installing new version - How to

I'm sure this is covered somewhere, but I did not see it in the FAQ's. Anyway, just a short answer question: Is it recommended to install XnView over the prior version, or to uninstall the earlier version first, and then install. This is my first version upgrade so I want to get off to a good start....
